The rooms are neat and airy and have absolutely gorgeous views of the Perfume River sunset.

I loved the breakfast, it was scrumptious and delicious with French food, had everything could need. The location was stunning, near Le Spa.

Booked a room with excellent views of the Perfume River sunset. The breakfast was awesome and marvellous, the check in was efficient. The riverside location and great staff were the highlight of this fantastic stay. There was a nice restaurant, a market and gift stores next door. Was an easy base for trip.

Marvellous and charming position.

Ideal and clean hotel with elegant staff and good views of the Perfume River sunset. Location near which is close enough to go to, Azerai La Residence Hue and the Ho Chi Minh museum too. Also, in a great setting on the river.

Very nice hotel with good staff. Reservation staff very efficient. Paid for upgrade in Colonial Suite, which was beautiful. Quiet hotel, with good facilities, close to main Hue attractions. Breakfast good without being outstanding. Restaurant's design not at the level of the bar or rooms but food quite good (expensive however). We stayed two nights and liked this place very much.

We went to Hue and La Residence to relax and see a little of Vietnam. La Residence turned out to be exactly the right place to do this. We found the hotel really wonderful on a number of fronts. First, this is a very beautifully designed hotel. It has a really special art nouveux style and some lovely atmospheric music. We wanted to relax and that is exactly what we got. We are also health conscious and we found the gym extremely good and the swimming pool was great. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We got a great room with a fabulous balcony overlooking the Parfume River. Overall a really great and memorable experience. The breakfast buffet was varied and top food, with changes day by day.

No complaints whatsoever. We read earlier reviews and note that management at the hotel has moved to address the shortcomings. For example there were plenty of deckchairs around the pool.

We had the most incredible stay at Azerai La Residence. The meticulously renovated art-deco hotel offered us a 5-star experience from the moment we arrived. The room was luxurious and comfortable, with double sinks in the bathroom vanity - such a luxury! The restaurant served some of the best food we had throughout our travels in Vietnam. The location on the Parfum River provided a peaceful and scenic setting. The staff were friendly, attentive, and spoke English. The pool area was relaxing and well-maintained. we highly recommend a stay at this outstanding hotel.

great breakfast with lots of fresh fruit and juices, beautifully decorated rooms with large bathrooms and every comfort one can ask for; the hotel is within walking distance to the city centre and main sights but nevertheless very quiet; hotel staff is very friendly and helpful with organizing tours and transportation; great restaurant with a beautiful terrace directly at the river; very nice and clean pool area

La Residence Hotel in Hue is simply outstanding! Fantastic is too general and not the right word, it is much more. It is elegant, sofisticated, comfortable, beautiful, perfect location directly opposite La Citadelle. I was upgraded to a river room view directly opposite the castle. Magnificent. The food was delicious, gracefully presented and so plentiful with such a variety at bkfst I have never seen before! The staff are always helpful, smiling, gracious and elegant too. And it is a fairly small hotel, after all it was a private residence, albeit huge for that, and so you feel so at home and pampered. The best boutique hotel, full stop!!! I am so happy I stumbled over this gorgeous place over the internet. Thank you for keeping the tradition and the history.

It was a perfect place, there is no need for this box!!

A Hidden Gem on the River

I had the pleasure of staying at this hidden gem on the river for a short getaway. The location was absolutely perfect, with the main attractions of Hue just a stone's throw away. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by a professional and attentive staff, although check-in did take a bit longer than expected.

Great staff, extremely friendly and every attention to detail covered. The hotel itself is beautifully decorated and set out, the dining room and pool particularly excellent. Rooms very good if slightly small, but this really is a quibble. Location is 20 mins walk from historic citadel and restaurant area which suited us fine but others may need to get cyclos or taxis! Overall a real highlight of our holiday in Vietnam, which is saying something as we really had a great time.

Poolside food and drink is expensive, especially relative to even the tourist retaurant options. We ate a fantastic local meal over the road from the hotel for less than £9 for four of us including drinks, would recommend that people explore. Apart from that we really can't think of anything negative, will definitely stay here when we come to Hue again.
