At half the price of hotels in Charleston's historic district, the ten minute drive into town was a small price to pay for the bargain hotel rate.
This is a clean hotel, reasonable price, customer friendly hotel staff.
Very nice hotel, especially for the price.
While it's certainly not the greatest hotel, I think we ended up paying around $70 with taxes included on a AAA rate so I couldn't complain.
Even though it is several miles from downtown, it was easy to get to any place in town from this location.
Kind of a scary location at night and great hotel.
It's not far from the airport, so we heard air traffic at times.
The La Quinta is located north of the airport, about a 20-25 minute drive from downtown or Isle of Palms.
Our room was a king bed and very spacious.
I did have a bad experience after checking into my room – I pulled back the bed sheets to reveal that the sheets had not been changed – hairs on the sheets and obviously not fresh.
Room was a good size, enclosed closet, sink separated from tub and toilet.
Bed was comfortable, micro/fridge in the room.
Room & bath very clean and staff very nice about extra towels/soap, etc.
I would reccoment Ruby Tuesdays(excellent salad bar and broccoli cheese soup, and only a 2 min walk) although if you are only here for a short time, definitely eat in downtown Charleston!

Convenient restaurant next door and easy freeway access made this a good choice.
Ok breakfast in hotel lobby (usual cereal, bagels, waffles).
Complimentary breakfast did not offer all the items that had been listed and the pool was great.
