Because of its hill-top location, one has a gorgeous view of the San Jose valley.
Also due its location, one wakes up to the birds right outside one's windows.
The location is about 20 minutes up the hills from the air port.
San Jose was close too, via taxi or bus (in Birri).
It was much easier than trying to obtain a different taxi driver everyday.
The rooms are nice i stayed in one with jacuzzi and king size bed and the view was amazing.
I stayed in a room with King size bed jacuzizi and an amazing view of the valley.
You can stay in the main building apartments, or have your own little apartment out away from the main building.
In the end, I pulled in one of the lamps from the room and put it in the bathroom.
The rooms were clean, but the furniture/bedding seems really outdated - mattresses not very comfortable.
The food at the restaurant was great i had breakfast, Lunch and Dineer their, i recommend the sea food soup.
Staff that represents the typical friendly, luxurious beds and the food at the restaurant was great i had breakfast.
The restaurant was great for breakfast - but other meals were average at best.
Thanks to tha amazing staff, huge bathrooms and the restaurant was great for breakfast.
The view of the central valley was terrific and the food in the hotel's restaurant was good.
We had a great time and the hotel was beautiful, service was great, food was very good and staff was very nice and friendly and very helpful.
Also, make sure you ask for an A/C'd room if you must have it, and make sure you receive regular maid service (doesn't seem to be the norm).
It would have been perfect, but the staff is so-so and they might try to sell you a time-share type program.
The view was amazing, the hotel was highly enjoyable and staff was very nice and friendly.

I think the hotel is considering a shuttle bus, which would be really nice.
We relax , we had massages and great food, 2 swimming pools jacuzzi and much much more.
The rooms were clean, the food served at La Catalina was very good.
