To us, this felt like the antithesis of a great italian hotel running smoothly with gracious service - which given Ducasse's reputation & prices, it should have been.
It is a lovely hotel, but like many of the luxurious small hotels of the world, it may not be the best value.
The resort is in a magnificent location and the rooms are very large and beautifully furnished.
Superb location - resftul bliss and some good walks up to the surrounding hills.
Firstly, the location and buildings are stunning and very beautifully decorated.
The problem for L'Andana is its location.
L'Andana is a great stop, village close by enjoyable and in conclusion: the place is beautiful.
The bed was extremely comfortable, the fabrics and decor very chic, and the bathroom was incredible.
This hotel was excellent, the staff were very polite and the bed was extremely comfortable.
Our room was in the original villa, and I loved the bathroom.
Fantastic hotel, staff were friendly, room was great, we had a room looking out at the pool and the bathroom was excellent and huge!
The bathroom was about as big as our whole hotel room in Rome.
We did eat dinner in the lovely restaurant one night but found the ambience to be superior to the cuisine.
We ate at the fancy restaurant (can't remember the name) on the grounds and it was probably the best meal I've ever eaten.
Dinner at the restaurant was delicious and very reasonably priced; servers were stingy with information about what we were eating (language barrier perhaps) but the food, especially the grilled meats, was simple and very good.
We had dinner at the new restaurant and it was, without a doubt, the worse meal I have ever had in Italy.
The included breakfast was by far the best meal.
Meanwhile other staff members, like a competent italian lady at the front desk, a french waiter at the pool restaurant, & the extremely genial maitre d' at the Trattoria, were wonderful.
I had some concerns after reading reviews that mentioned terrible service and attitude of staff, construction woes, etc.

Other delightful amenities included the pool (a little chilly, spa (treatments are astronomically priced, but the sauna and Turkish bath were free) and beautiful grounds and surrounding vineyards.
The pool is good and the treatments at the spa were excellent.
Beautiful location, very nicely done building, friendly and professional staff, beautiful spa and pool (a bit cold), marvelous breakfast, delicious food (but not thrilled by the star Trattoria), new exciting BBQ, perfect wine list.
Moreover the room was spacious and clean, breakfast at La Villa in the mornings was delicious.
The hotel is a lovely reconstruction of an old wine estate home and rooms are spacious and spotless.
