Certainly the location of the hotel is breathless as you are behind a beautiful lake and can walk on a park looking at this amazing scenario (see picture included) but unfortunately can't say the same about the hotel.
Good location, walk around some lakes near by and the rooms are spacious and clean.
The location of hotel is couple of blocks away form the town centre, but it's a walking distance.
Certainly the location of the hotel is breathless as you are behind a beautiful lake, you can use free wi-fi and the bar is quiet.
The decor and furniture in my room was tired and in need of refurbishment, paint was peeling off in places.
We stayed there one night in August 2006, and the price for double room was 86 e.
I have spent two nights during a family holiday in Finland and book two connecting rooms which I have found small and not well refurbished but in general acceptable.

It was an ok stay, as a Hilton HHonors gold cardholder I got a room ón the 5th (highest) floor with a nice view over the lake.
The rooms are spacious and clean , the view is excellent , breakfast is perfect, the bar is quiet and serves both liquors and sweets.
Staff in general not so friendly, breakfast on average, restaurant.
During week breakfast is served until 10 am but already at 9 am the food selection was getting smaller and the warm foods was getting lukewarm.
Good selection at breakfast and nice gym.
Opposite to gourmet restaurant, the swimming pool is very nice.
Good overall hotel and the front desk staff was very friendly.
Hotel was near the lake and service at front desk was excellent.
The young receptionist is very friendly , I can not say the same thing for the other receptionists (a gentleman and a lady ).
The hotel lacks any character at all, and this is reflected in the efficient but miserable staff on duty.
Scandic hotel in Kuopio is above avarage because of spacious rooms, swimming pool and jacuzzi in sauna department and good selection at breakfast.
The swimming pool is very nice and the whirlpool is superb.
Staff were courteous, the room was very clean and comfortable, the warm foods was getting lukewarm.
