View wasn't great - looking down into a very narrow inner road inside the courtyard of the hotel complex - but it was ok for the price.
All in all the hotel was better than we were expecting, and although it didn't snow, Latvia was a very charming, and good value location.
However, we were transferred - at the same price to the sister hotel the Hotel De Rome.
Forums hotel may be a better value option.
Right in the middle of the Old Town-excellent location and the hotel is located in a great place.
The location is superb, the hotel is situated in the Old Town of Riga and restuarant staff happy to cater to needs.
This hotel is located right in the centre of old town Riga, you could not wish for a better location.
The only problem I would say is there are a few beggars around and that it cost an extra £5 each way for the priviledge to visit the old town in a taxi from the airport on top of the price quoted to get to the hotel.
Our Taxis brought/picked us up from the front door, and although we may have be slightly overcharged at GBP13 to and from the airport it seemed very reasonable.
Room was clean, good and comfortable bed and pillows, good bathroom and powerful hot shower and friendly helpful staff.
Original beams mixed with modernist Scandinavian-style furnishings, wonderfully comfortable bed and modern bathroom (small and functional).

We had asked for a twin room and the first room we were given had a king size bed but was too dark for us.
They happily showed us an alternative room with superkingsize bed and lighter furnishings.
Very clean rooms, comfortable modern furnishings in bar and good breakfast included hot dishes.
A nice bar to relax in after a hard day shopping, restaurants to keep you warm and the facilities are fine.
Lots of bars and restaurants nearby, De Lacey's Irish Bar was a favourite of ours.
Buffet style breakfast was in the restaurant in an adjacent building.
Rooms are in separate buildings from reception and restaurant, which means you have to go outside to get to breakfast and reception, this is inconvenient in sub zero temperatures.
The rooms, location, breakfast, staff and services were all excellent.
Charming and covers quite an area of the old town, great atmosphere, the staff at the reception was very friendly and helpful.

When I mentioned this to reception staff in the morning on check - out, they just nodded in unison and said that this is Old Riga for you.
Most of the places we wanted to visit were within walking distance - but wrap-up warm, especially if you plan to take the lift up to the top of St.
Others in our group in a different 2-floor building complained they didn't have an elevator, however.
We were upgraded to a suite on the second floor of the main building which appeared to be newly furnished and was spacious and very clean.
The rooms were large, fairly basic but very clean, warm and quiet.
Clean and comfortable room, good breakfast.
Which was fab - nice clean rooms, great breakfasts, sauna and the staff were lovely.
