I was attending a convention at the Town and Country Resort nearby, so I chose to stay at this hotel rather than pay the higher prices at the (overbooked) convention hotel.
Overall for the money this hotel was brilliant and I would recommend it to anyone who is comfortable with basic hotels.
Pool area kept very clean and overall for the money this hotel was brilliant.
View the beautiful city of San Diego, good hotel for good price and the staff was very friendly and competent.
The location was very noisy, as the interstate is located across the street from the hotel.
The location is close to everything, right of the freeway at hotel circle.
Location: If you plan to see the sights by car and don't need to be in a neighborhood where you can walk to things, the location is very good.
We used trolley, bus and taxi and did ok.
Taxis cost about $20 to Downtown and the beach areas although there is a bus stop right outside the hotel.
The room containing the bathtub and toilet is minute.
Staff rating: When I asked the chick who checked us in about not having a king-sized bed in the room, she informed me that "when you book online, you get what we have left.
We stayed at this hotel the night of March 7th and our room was clean and basic, I had requested late check-in, king size bed, non-smoking.
I paid for a king sized bed and got a room with two queens.
The room was rather dark and dingy but the bed was surprisingly comfortable – even though the sheets were the wrong size.
No free breakfast either, they want you to eat in their on-site restaurants.
The hotel is extremely close to several good restaurants but in all honesty their Mexican restaurant was better than the ones in Old Town.
The restaurant on premises has an excellent breakfast and now in 2010 in this classic hotel.
The Waffle Spot is a breakfast restaurant associated with the hotel.
Nice friendly bar and free continental breakfast.
The hotel staff were courteous and polite, the front desk was great giving me directions to the zoo.
The price is good, the front desk staff are awesome and nice to have free wi-fi.
We weren't able to try the pool or jacuzzi, but we will next time!
People were enjoying the pool and jacuzzi.
Grounds, spa, and pool area kept very clean.
Also, no free internet (there may have been Wi-Fi, I'm not sure).
They have internet pc's that you need to pay for by the minute.
Rooms were average but clean and tidy, some with new matresses.
The room was always spotless when we got back from our daily activities.
The rooms are simple and basic but were clean.
The staff was friendly, the rooms were clean, the pool was good sized and cleaned daily.
Friendly staff, clean room and the mexican inspired food is fabulous.
