The hotel offers a good value for the money and friendly staff.
A great location in easy walking distance of the center of Catania.
The location of the hotel is probably not for everyone since it is slap bang in the cityand the traffic is dreadful so are the drivers!
If you arrive by plane, taxis are available at the airport, but if you come in by train you may have a hard time finding a cab outside of the station.
We ended up taking an "unofficial cab" simply because we couldn't find an official taxi anywhere.
Free beverages in the room refrigerator and effecient air condtioning with lots of hot water in the clean and large bathrooms - hotel is clean and daily maid service was top notch - would stay here again.
The bed was amazingly comfortable, the breakfast were great.
The rooms vary in size with all the things you expect from 4 stars, and for the perpetual traveller the beds are OK!
Three of us stayed 3 nights (2 rooms) and two more joined us for one night (1 room) at the Katane Palace in mid-October, 2006.
The rooms were quiet and tastefully appointed, the bathroom facilities all worked fine, and the staff could not have been nicer.

The room was spacious and food in the restaurant was very good.
I celebrated my wedding at the Katane Palace and was delighted by the exquisite service and food (the restaurant was the reason I chose Katane in the first place).
They are always ready with the right restaurant and good directions, They made my stay special.
Hotel staff excellent and service fantastic.
A real benefit are the reception staff - they speak very well not only in English, but also German and French.
The lobby is spotless and the reception staff are friendly and helpful.
The dining area were lovely, hotel was well signposted from the route we used to enter Catania and the staff were very helpful.
Very good sicilian food and very welcoming staff.
Location is excellent - Staff very cordial and hand the keys off to the valet for off-street parking.
Parking can sometimes be challenging but overall its always possible to find a place outside (with no little man waiting to rob you of 50 cents).
We were satisfied with the room, large, confy and very clean and were suprised to find not just the usual bottle of champaigne, but also a bowl of fresh fruit.
Clean and comfortable rooms, beautiful outdoor terrace for dining or relaxing.
