Jurys Gt Russell Street Reviews
Guest reviews are submitted by our customers after their stay at Jurys Gt Russell Street
Rooms were clean and well maintained, if not the largest hotel room I've ever experienced, for the price it was excellent value for money.
I will definately use this hotel on future trips to London and would recommend it to anyone looking for a central location, value for money, very clean and comfortable accomodation and good service.
I've stayed in Jury's Hotel Great Russell Street several times in the last 5 years and have always been very pleased with the hotel and found it to be excellent value for money.
I have stayed in a few hotels in London and this is one of the best for value for money and location.
The location is unbeatable, in the same street of the British museum, very, very close to Oxford Street (1 minute walking, not more), and with the tube of Tottenham Court Road right on the corner.
Close to Tottenham Court tube stop and walking distance to a lot of night life, the location was very good.
I like the location close to the british museum , shopping ,theatres etc but found the staff quite rude at times.
The area was well lit, safe and right next to a major bus stop and Underground station.
Covent Garden), bus (5 or 6 lines), subway (Tottenham Court Road at 100 m.
The room is was OK, clean, and slightly bigger than your average London hotel room, but they gave us a room with one bed-so I had to share the bed with my mother for the 4 days, although my reservation asked for 2 beds.
Room: elegant classic decoration, big bathroom (bath, shower, marble decoration, large sink), all spotlessly clean, all amenities included (hair dryer, mini bar, trousers press, iron, safe, airco,.
However, it was very clean, tastefully decorated, very comfortable bed, and nice marble bath.
There were two telephones in the room and two internet points - one at the desk and one by the bed.
I had been a bit nervous because on a previous stay I had a room with one small window, and the bed in an alcove surrounded by walls on 3 sides.
The Lutyens Restaurant breakfast was nice, as you could have whatever was on the buffet bar plus order an entree from the menu.
If you stay check out eve's sandwich bar across the road for breakfast, and the fantastic Kobe Jones for an evening meal (stunning food).
We wanted to get get some bar food when we arrived and even though the bar wasn't open at that time, they offered to bring food from the restaurant from us (from the bar menu), which was also welcomed.
Can't comment on the breakfast as didn't eat in the hotel but there is a cafe on the same street that serves adequate breakfasts for a fraction of the price, if breakfast is not included in your rate.
Very nice staff, powerful shower and including a lovely bar & restaurant.
We thought the service was excellent, the staff very helpful, from the concierge.
The staff is not expecially friendly or service oriented except the maid service.
Needless to say it took a lot of arguing with reception staff and eventually a very unfriendly female manager reluctantly agreed to charge me in euro.
Decor of the reception area may not have the 'wow' factor of some similar hotels but the staff were polite, friendly and helpful.
The room was next to the elevator, but laid out in such a manner that I heard minimal noise from the guests using the lift.
Other than the (for me) irrelevant window view issue, my only gripe would be the fact that there are only two lifts (elevators for our North American cousins) and they don't exactly bust a gut to respond to your call.
The hotel is very central, the Lutyens building is beautiful and the lobby is a nice double height area.
Our room on the 5th floor was spotless, spacious, and had every facility available for the business or leisure traveler.
I was allocated a room on the 8th floor which was spotless, spacious, and had every facility available for the business or leisure traveller.
Bedroom was clean and restaurant were fine.
Good sized rooms, clean all over, nice building, courteous friendly staff.
The rooms are a bit on the small side (normal for London) but are spotless , well appointed, very nice and comfortable.
