However, the hotel is in the middle of NYC and the noise didn't bother us overmuch - the situation is much more important, and the Jolly was in a perfect location for shopping and tourism.

I think the location is fine -- close to Grand Central, but not necessarily in the middle of the most exciting neighborhood for tourist, probably better for business.

There are plenty of other hotels for similar rates nearby - I advise you to go elsewhere unless you are just looking for somewhere for a night or two and won't be bothered by the above irritations - as I agree that the location is good.

Subway, Grand Central and a quick cab right to the airports.

When we were checking out of the hotel we were offered the services of the hotel limo to take us to the airport, which was $65, probably about the same as a taxi.

Small little living room (they came and made up the little sleeper sofa), big bedroom with king bed, huge bathroom with glassed in shower & huge tub.

My one gripe is that our room was a standard and the bathroom didn't have a tub, which was fine, but what were we going to do with the bath salts they gave us!

Literally, to get from one side of the room to the bathroom, you have to climb over the bed.

After explaining over and over that we booked a room with 2 double beds, not a single with 1 double bed, they finally agreed to look for a different room.

We were then faced with the choice to move to either a room with 2 single beds and would be charged an extra $60/night for a cot or to move to a room with 1 double bed and a $60/night cot.

The restaurant was shut (apparently had been for 2 months) so although breakfast was catered for no room service or lunch/dinner service.

Good "coffee shop" in hotel ( ate several meals there) and attractive high end restaurant as well (did not use).

Would recommend you take your breakfasts here, as the hotel's breakfast is expensive and average from what i have been told.

The rate we paid for the room included continental breakfast daily, served in restaurant on the mezzanine.

The breakfast in the hotel's restaurant was pretty good.

Staff helpful particularly the concierge.

Reception helped us arrange our bus tour of NY, the door staff gave us a great suggestion for somewhere to eat breakfast( P.

Even though fromt he lobby the hotel look fabulous dont be fooled as soon as you step out of the lifts for your floor, the truth is revealed the carpets are threadbare and shabby looking and looks like the whole place could do with a refurb!

One time the lift stopped at the fifth floor.

Housekeeping frequently forget to replace certain items like bathmats, small towels etc.

They offer wireless internet for a fee (kind of pricey in my opinion) which is reliable.

LAN computer access/ only wireless available.

The room that we stayed in was clean, tidy and surprisingly quiet.

The room was clean and had excellent breakfasts at the Moonstruck café for less than half that price.

4 night stay at jolly madison, the hotel was lovely, clean,hotel staff were friendly and very helpful offered to book tours etc,stored luggage on last day,room was nice view unusual but didnt need view was out exploring sights.

The room was clean for the most part although there was a little dirt on a pillowcase and a couple of hairs on the sheets that we could not account for.

Although the rooms were small, they were clean and nicely furnished.
