  While it looked nice, there was a lot of smoking and no non-smoking rooms.

  As we were checking in I asked what floor the swimming pool was on.

  The staff are courteous, very friendly, and although language is sometimes a problem, every effort was made to accomodate a non-Chinese speaker. Rooms are very clean, room service prompt and cheerful, and if going to Nanchang, two tips, eat out at night, as many of the city's eateries offer better food at lower prices than the hotel, and get to breakfast early, unless you want cold bacon!

  The restaurants were a little disappointing with the traditional Chinese being way too salty and the "western style" restaurant serving overcooked western food and a range of average Chinese.

  The staff at the hotel are definitely above average. We even went so far to purchase blow up pool floats to try to sleep on, but it didn't really help too much. The restaurant in the hotel had some very interesting items such as crispy fried dog meat and turtle soup which included the whole turtle, shell and all. They had a comfortable bar area with a few beer and liquor choices. Don't worry if you are going to the White swan next, it is a delightful change with plenty to eat, plenty shopping and a georgous hotel.

  You cannot drink the water but the hotel supplied bottle water to use for drinking and brushing.
