Would return to this hotel if wanted one in this price category.
I found the food prices reasonable and similar to what I paid at other hotels.
The worst though is that all the details that you would expect from a 5 star hotel in this price category are not in place.
Overall a very commercial hotel that likes to host big parties and not focused on individual travellers like we were - we did not feel like being nicely hosted although we were defintiely paying the highest possible rate being single travellers.
We were going to stay 2 nights but cut it short and moved our location.
We were badly swindled by the late night doorman who was running an ‘overcharging scam’ with one of our cab drivers.

We were offered a suite but chose to downgrade to a room because the suite was dark and depressing and the bedroom without windows.
The outside lock and ceiling fan was broken, the bathroom was old and stained, and the king sized bed was two narrow box springs on the floor with separate sheets.
The room was beautiful and didn't have that "hotel" feel to it - the only way I can think to describe it is that it felt more like an "Inn" with the large bed and antique type furnishings.
The bed was comfortable and the food was excellent.

Cinnamon (the fine dining restaurant) was very mediocre and the breakfast buffet, while plentiful, was not of high quality.
The breakfast buffet was tasty and filling as was the suberb Italian restaurant on the grounds.
Friendly staff although bar/restaurant service sometimes a bit slow: Worth a stay.
In contrast, the outdoor ‘Mongolian’ restaurant was good and a much better option, both in terms of cuisine and ambiance.

The Jai Mahal Palace was beautiful and the staff at the front desk were helpful and pleasant.
In addition food is good and the Spa is located inside very cosy tents next to the pool.
Nice pool, no health club except a moderate gym.
The grounds and swimming pool are fantastic.
The rooms are clean, functional and good decor.
Great place to stay, kind service and our standard room was clean.
The rooms were clean and the Cinnamon restaurant was great.
The room was spotless and excellent, the restaurant was delicious and elegant.
