It is better value than the top graded ones and doesn't try to be what it isn't, ie an over-the-top resort hotel.
Had looked at the reviews on this site and thought it sounded the best hotel for the price range, but it was much better than we expected.
Beautiful location, lovely beach and this hotel just does the minimum needed.
Beautiful location, the beach is nice and out of the hotel to get to various parts of Muscat.
Lovely beach, beautiful location and the overall style makes this a wonderful place to stay.
Nothing else is close by, taxis are necessary to go into Muscat center and the historical area by the souq.
Would also recommend a 1/2 hour stop at the Grand Mosque on your way to the airport; it's open to visitors between 8-11 am.
Rooms are very dated, especially the bathroom with cracked grouting around the tub, old style, nearly non functioning hair dryer,(request another from the front desk) and a medicine style cabinet.
The rooms are big, the beds are comfortable, whilst the bathroom is a little dated.
The staff is very professional, the bed one of the most comfortable we have experienced anywhere in the world and the food is.

Everybody from the reception to the houseboy were so helpful, the bed was very comfortable and the fitness club was also very impressive.
The Arabian suite is huge and the breakfast buffet must be the best I have ever eaten.
The restaurants are UK prices and the food very enjoyable.
There is a small shopping mall next door to the hotel with 3 coffee shops, two small restaurants (no alcohol) and a drycleaner (the hotel drycleaner is very expensive) and several retail shops.
Food was good and the Pub was very lively (liquor is only served in large hotels and some restaurants).
We ate in all the inhouse restaurants and were not dissappointed.
Service oriented staff made our stay the best ever, shame-the old “Arabian Rooms” were classic Oman and the chinese restaurant had great food.
This place is brilliant, the staff is very professional and room service is fine.

The rooms are clean and quiet and at the end of a long work day, that's always a good thing.
Not only was the bathroom very dated (blue floor tiles), but it wasn't as clean as i would have liked, limescale and grime on the shower and basin taps, stained shower curtain, peeling paint.
This hotel is brilliant and the rooms are luxurious and spotless.
