On that day the owner visited at 09:30 and cleared the apartment as suitable for vacating, he also kindly allowed us to leave our luggage on site until lunchtime when we had a taxi booked for our trip to the airport.
As our taxi and flight were waiting my elderly mother in her mid seventies was pressed for the money (I only arrived at the tail end of the scene), she handed over her credit card and told the owner her conscience was clear, take the money if he wished.
In addition the room beautiful and plenty of excellent towels.
The fully tiled bathroom was large, the food was superb.
This came as quiet a shock as the apartment was cleared at 09:30 and had been cleaned top to bottom by two people in the morning.
They could offer no proof of their claim as they had cleaned the apartment again.
Until our return to the apartments we had actually had a discussion as to whether we should return the following year, we shall not.
Some of the best food I have eaten in France.
The dinner was really of high gourmet quality, the BEST meals I've had in the Lot were served at Le Gindreau.
Hotel staff were friendly and helpful, the service was perfect.
The area is as charming, the service is exceptional and leaving large pools of green stagnant water.
The host George Renault offers wonderful hospitality and superb service.
Rate seemed reasonable compared to others in region and the staff were always attentive.
Be careful when you check out, we decided not to pay the 70 Euro surcharge for cleaning as our party consisted of my elderly mother and older sister (mid-fifties) who were happy to clean the apartment on the final day.
