The room was a good size, staff were fine.

The hotel is in need of a face lift, and food and drinks were expensive.

Garden area, pool & water slide very dirty. Hotel reminds me of my school report. Has potential, could do better.

The hotel was in a lovely location and ideal for our stopover purposes. Unusual hillside/resort for a holiday location (although we were on a stopover). Swimming pool/water slides.

Decor was a little tired in our rooms. Blankets not duvets. Shower over bath. Lift not working and as the hotel is on the side of a hill this could have been inconvenient for elderly/infirm or those with heavy bags. Lighting in corridors with no windows was on a timer so gave an unfriendly impression as lift out of action. Restaurant looked lovely but closed before 10pm and we were sent to the snack bar (bottom of the hill) which is best avoided - red wine from the fridge, slow service, lamb chops like boot leather. Waitress got our order wrong so one meal was later than others as had to be sent back. Recommend avoidance unless you want a beer and an ice cream!

We wanted somewhere inexpensive, with indoor swimming if the weather was bad, and space for self-catering. Hotel Carayon satisfied our needs in every way. We had a room in an annexe to the main building, with a south- facing balcony on which we could eat, and a kitchen well stocked with cooking equipment, a stove, microwave, plates, and cutlery. The room even had its own vacuum cleaner and ironing board - and the bath was in fact a jacuzzi, which we made great use of. In addition, the walls separating us from our neighbours on either side were made of solid masonry, as was the floor, so sound insulation between the rooms was excellent. We were also able to park right outside our room, which was located 20 metres from the main road, on which stood a bakery and a general store. And we liked the riverside garden on the opposite bank from the hotel. All in all, we were very impressed and very satisfied by the facilities the Carayon offered us, and liked the hotel so much that we stayed for two nights, not one.

The hotel itself seemed a little tired, and needs some money spent on it by its owners. Older or disabled visitors may also have difficulty walking up the steep hillside on which it is built.

The facilities were excellent. . The food was excellent..

The location. The village had no other facilties, not even another reatsaurant.
