Insotel Club Punta Prima

On arrival at the airport we were not given a welcome pack or had a rep present on the transfer bus, as we were the only people going to Isotel whe hadn't a clue when our meeting the next day was.

The pool at the bottom of the complex (the complex is built into a slope) includes a huge area that is only about a foot deep which was perfect for our daughter.

We have a 3 year old and we moved one of the sofa beds into our room so when he went to bed we still had the run of the room & balcony.

We had a 2 bedroom apartment, was adequate but not what I would call 5* luxury, note the satelite tv has sky news, cnn and bbc world in english, take a portable dvd and plug it into the tv.

Accommodation is in blocks of 10 – 12 apartments, generally with 1 or 2 bedrooms.

Bathroom good, separate bath & shower, always clean towels.

The apparment needed mainenance, the beds were uncomfortable, and really, it felt like a camping holiday and certainly not like a stay in a five star resort, room service menu was very limited, as were tv channels.

The complex is well equipped with two main pool areas, a couple of small restaurants (pizza and grill), a large buffet restaurant and a bar and entertainment area.

There are several places to eat in the complex, ranging from a poolside bar, an adequate Italian restaurant and the full/half board buffets.

We stayed half board, breakfast and evening meals are served in a nice child friendly dining room, food usual buffet type and ok but could be a bit monotonous if there for more than a week!

The little town is very small and quiet with a few restaurants and one bar (I think) and the beach is small but clean and very near to the complex if you want a day on the beach.

We were fortunate that or apartment was near the restaurant and main bar.

As for Service you would think from some of the reviews on this site it was awful, this is not the case, everyone we dealt with was polite, firendle and helpful, the entertianment staff were excellent.

The house rose wine was nice, the reception staff were hopeless at best and rooms were cleaned twice daily.

The hotel has two massive outdoor swimming pools, an indoor pool and spa, tennis courts, play areas, bike hire, 3 restaurants, 3 bars, a hairdressers and several other facilities all of which will add to their official rating.

There was also an indoor spa which offers Jacuzzis (over-16s only, very irritating to us with children) and an unheated, relatively small pool.

When we asked about a clothes iron, again you have to pay and it needs to be booked a day in advance as it comes from a company outside - I think a 5* resort would have a couple of irons lying around in housekeeping.

This resort is value for money, it's beautifully clean, good location, well kept, the pools are spotless, apartments cleaned every day, staff very helpful and friendly.

Plus side: cleanliness & appearance, they make alot of effort to ensure the grounds and rooms are clean.

The apartments are clean and well equipped although there is a tendency for the cleaners to leave certain items on the grass for collection later by someone else.

The room was kept very clean throughout the week and the food I thought was very good.

The accommodatrion is clean and comfortable, fridge and hob in kitchen area of room.
