  The university directed us to the Colonnade; I called and was given a room on the spot at the university guest rate. To avoid the hotel parking fee, we left our car in the university parking garage and schlepped our luggage across campus. The front desk was very hospitable and helpful and the complimentary cookies were a nice touch! The room must have been recently renovated because it was more than we expected -- spotless; beautiful marble bathroom; wonderful, soft beds, HUGE flat screen TV; and more. The only thing on our wish list would be complimentary, continental breakfast.

  The rooms are spare, the mattresses are bad; they're old and lumpy. Electrical outlets in the room are scarce and the bathroom is pretty tired. They gave me the wrong room-- a single king when I requested a double. Despite that, the woman at the front desk gave me a single bed. The front desk said that the kitchen didn't make them today. Diamond members are supposed to receive water in their rooms or be given it at the front desk at the time of check in.

  The staff was very accomodating during my stay. They switched my room when I showed up before check-in time so I wouldn't have to wait for my original room to be cleaned. They were also very helpful with tips on how to get the semi-functional ATM in the lobby to work (unplug it and plug it back in to reboot it).

  I think that some strange charges and refunds on my bill resulted from this, but the staff was again very helpful in sorting it out and printing me a new bill on checkout. The key card machine wasn't working when I checked in, so they sent someone from housekeeping to meet me at my room and let me in, and called me when my key was ready.

  The room was spacious and the bed comfortable except for the pancake-flat pillows. We decided to take a cab downtown to avoid the hassle of bailing out the car and having to pay (again) to park downtown.

  We parked in the garage immediately, as the reception area was full and there was little parking on the street. The lobby is nice, but the hallways and rooms themselves are worn. After reading reviews of the hotel, it seems the restaurant staff leaves the most to be desired, but still, if she was already making the trip to the room, you'd think she could have rounded some up along the way, I can't imagine the restaurant is very far from the front desk. Parking at this hotel is far and away my biggest complaint. The area of town that the hotel is located in is not a high tourist area and parking should not cost this much to begin with ($18/20 overnight), it is more than the cost of parking downtown in most cases. We travel to Baltimore regularly and outside of the downtown Inner Harbor area, I've never had to pay for parking.

  Hotel was great, lobby is beautiful as mentioned by other people. The staff at the desk was very friendly, especially Sheryl she was great. The indoor pool was great everyone from housekeeping to the front desk was very friendly.

  In that regard, the location is excellent -- across the street from the campus. The suites are advertised as having a separate bedroom. Yes, there is a bedroom area, with a wide entry to it; no door. These included a refrigerator that did not work, a TV in the sofabed area that was older and had a fuzzy picture, a sofabed that was too short for a shorter person to sleep on with legs fully extended, a ragged blanket to use with the sofabed, a bathroom with laminate flooring as the ceiling, and a small size for a $300/night room.

  For the premium prices charged, this property should have a high level of customer service and quality settings. Come and go several times and your parking expense can become very prohibitive. The set up was more typical of a low end suite hotel; not a hotel that charges $300 for a suite. So, if you want a private bedroom to allow someone to watch TV and others to sleep, this will not work.

  Had an issue with a fire alarm at about 10:30pm and was out of room until 11:15pm.

  Needless to say did not get a good night sleep and was disappointed that the staff did not apologize and during the alarm/fire drill one staff member mentioned this was an ongoing problem. Also housekeeping was VERY noisy at 8:00am in the morning.

• 10 minute cab ride from the city in great neighborhood! The hotel has been renovated and the sleeping rooms were great. I was surprised to find a huge flat screen tv in my room. They have a Starbucks in the lobby, and the people all around were very friendly.

  During check in there were several other people checking in, there were two front desk clerks at the time of my check in, then from out of the back office two other people came out to help the two clerks. They were very helpful with getting us checked in to our rooms. I believe the fitness center is new it has all new equipment which made my workout very enjoyable. My room was very clean with a huge flat panel tv. The bed was soft my husband thought it was too soft, but I sleep like a baby.
