Hotel Il Guercino Bologna - 博洛尼亚

Good position close to the railway station, the location of the hotel is perfect right in the middle of the City.

The location is very good, close to main station but the area seemed safe (5 min walk to station, 15-20 min walk to main city square).

Easy access to the historical centre - you should just walk straight along Via Independanza or take a bus, this is a perfectly decent hotel in good location close to main railway.

Although initially appearing a little out of town (across a bridge over the railway), we found in fact that it made an excellent base to walk into and around the city, and was very near a straight bus or taxi route to the main piazza.

The transport network is superb, ( train station is 5 mins walk from hotel) and if you are looking for day trips out then Rome and Milan are 3 hours away by train and Parma is even closer.

Excellent location rooms very roomy four poster bed toilets large, very nice hotel and good restaurants/pizza in adjacent buildings.

Although our room was small, it had a decent double bed, flat screen television, and quality fittings everywhere.

We chose the annexe and were given a room with a very large, solid double bed, a large shower cubicle with 3 kinds of shower including jet shower, large wash hand basin, perfectly good hairdryer and bidet.

The bathroom was well-decorated, clean and modern with a shower (no bath) and ample shampoos and soaps provided.

We had one of the renovated rooms (the only drag being that the elevator in the new part isn't installed yet), but the room was brand new and had lovely furnishings including a flat screen TV.

The continental breakfast was wonderful, especially the pastries!

We really loved the Pizza restaurant right across the street from the hotel.

Even for Italy - try Franco Rossi's restaurant - the best in town!

The breakfast was well above what would be expected for a budget hotel.

Perfect shower equipment and very reasonable breakfast.

Moreover nice small courtyard type hotel, friendly front of house staff and reception is also very clean.

Reception is also very clean and cute and the staff were friendly enough.

The reception staff were knowledgeable and very helpful, and the room (the cheapest double) had everything one needed, including air conditioning - essential in Bologna in July!

We stayed in the new extension (NO Lift "Depandance are not caught up from elevator"!

There is a possibility to park the car within a private parking for an extra fee.

We had a rental car, and the hotel charged 16 euros to park inside the enclosure, but there was a parking lot down the street for 9 euros and metered parking on the street.

The room was clear and breakfast was good.

We were a little leery after reading some reviews, but were pleasantly surprised when we arrived to find a very helpful desk staff and a very clean room.

A gem for the 2-star range : spotlessly clean (with a particularly attractive bathroom) and very pleasing decor in a quiet part of the city, ideally placed for the railway station.

The room was very clean and quite comfortable.

Our bathroom looked like it had just been renovated the day before we got there it was so clean and sparkling.
