After "winning" my stay at Booked.net for a more than fair price ($70/night) I came upon these reviews and was ready to rebook my visit to tampa with another hotel.
So, like I said for the $50 I spent on Booked.net for the hotel I feel I got my money's worth.
I would much rather stay in a place like this where customer service is paramount, than to stay in a beautifully aesthetic hotel run by snobs who just want the money and don't offer the service.
This hotel is extremely overpriced for the horrible service they provide.
Overall a great location and place to stay.
Great location for going to the Forum and a great price.
For my purposes the location was great and the hotel room was spacious and comfortable.
We could have taken a taxi or trolley, but the weather was very nice.
Taxi took us to the pier for (I think) only $7.
The room was a mix, nice big comfortable bed, good selection of TV channels, but old carpet and an older bathroom with a clogged shower drain.
The room itself was fine, clean, comfortable bed, clean towels, air worked, etc.
The room is what you expect from this sort of hotel - nine pillows to a bed, but $5 bottles of water.
The bedding/beds/pillows were luxurious--I would kill for a bed and pillow that comfortable and soft!
When we got to the room our fridge was waiting, as well as a very comfortable portable bed for my little guy.
The food in the restaurant is mediocre and the breakfast coupons are a joke.
If you don't want to eat breakfast in the hotel, there is a great place just 3 blocks north of the hotel called First Watch that serves excellent and reasonably priced food.
The lobby is large with a bar and restaurant (I didn't try either).
On the flip side the adult meals (well breakfast anyway) was $7 - $11 which was a little overpriced for the same type of meal.
Breakfast at the hotel's restaurant was great on Friday.
Much to our relief, we had a very nice room, and the staff, particularly the front desk and the concierge, were very friendly, welcoming, and helpful.
Positives: Food in Avantare restaurant is excellent (not for a limited budget), wait staff need more customer service training though, concierge, bell wait staff (ask for Gita) very helpful.
The bar was constantly busy with guests, the pool and jacuzzi were inviting and clean, and the fitness room was always in use.
The fitness center was being renovated we were there, the hotel was clean from the room to the workout area to the pool and staff was helpful and friendly.
Upon arrival at 9pm on Friday, there was a line of about 15 people waiting for an elevator in the lobby.
Chargeable Wi-Fi worked well throughout the hotel.
The internet connection was wi-fi and I kept losing the signal.
Very nice hotel, excellent Service and the entire room was very clean.
The hotel was clean from the room to the workout area to the pool.
Actually the rooms were very clean and very modern.
When we arrived they put us in a room, that when you walked it their was melted iron burn in thrus, very clear.
So we had to wait 15 minutes for it to drain, then clean the tun, and all the hair and dirt from next door is in the bathtub.
