The excellent staff and good food redeemed this stay, however, for the price (which I got at a discount on Booked.net) was too pricey compared to prices I've paid for nicer hotels in Chicago.
Seems like all hotels price gouge these days.
If you get a good deal for this hotel (less than $100) then I would say go for it - otherwise, save the money (and frustration) and stay somewhere else.
It would have been a perfect stay if not for two things: the overpriced hotel restaurant (we later discovered there were many reasonable places nearby-go to South st!
ATM was located in a remote location down a secondary elevator next to the rental car counter in the garage.
Don't let the location discourage you, it's scenic and close to Society Hill, Dave and Busters, and South Street.
Very quiet location and the hotel is very close to the Historic District.
There is not much public transport around the hotel, with the exception of taxis, so if you don't have a car, it can be a bit of a pain to get to and from every night.
We arrived at the hotel jet-lagged having flown in from Scotland and then having had a 90 minute delay at the airport on arrival.
The bed was new and very comfortable, the room and bathroom were clean, and the restaurant was just fine for breakfast.

Breakfast at the hotel restaurant is befitting of 4 * quality prices.
The only thing we had any complaint with was the breakfast buffet in Keatings restaurant.
