Most everything there is overpriced and of course like most hotels they take advantage of the business travelers, but what's different about that?
Outside of the overpriced taxis, bare rooms, meals and slow internet connection it was a nice hotel that I would go back for on business, but looking at it from a personal expense I dinged it to a 3*.
Try other hotels in Almaty, this is overpriced for what there is.
The hotel in general is overpriced for the quality of services provided.
The location is good and the atrium at the centre of the hotel is very impressive.
The location is too far from any shopping or business centres, it's 45 minutes from the airport.
The location is off the town and you dont have choices of restaurants either.
As already mentioned in the other reviews, location is not the best , as it is outside the city, and there aren't many restaurants or bars around.
Staff were helpful and the bed was comfortable.
There was no safe in the room, and the heating/air conditioning was ineffectual.
Furthermore the tempeture outside was -25C and the heating in the room was busted , and the carpet was filled with old cigarr.
Well appointed bathrooms and good gym facilties.
Actually the view – is the best thing about the hotel and the rooms are large and comfortable.
Clean rooms, nice bar and the food was very good.
Bar staff were excellent - very attentive and the food were fine.
The breakfast is OK, but watch for some well out-of-date jams and products.
The "Grill" restaurant provides a very average food, but is quite expensive.
The only close by restaurant is "Tubeteyka", which is 3 minutes walk, the food is not bad and they accept credit cards.
Rooms/common areas all of high quality and front desk staff were friendly.
Front desk staff are helpful and the rooms are cosy.
The hotel has the best pool in Almaty and the staff were attentive.
In all not too bad for the money, the lobby huge and the service of a high standard.
The lagoon- style pool, with an area for swimmers who want to train, is beautifully laid out with trees and plants.
High prices for Almaty and the lobby is very impressive.
If you are not a pool lover, go to InterContinental.
Whilst the room was clean and the spa facility was good.
