I would definitely go back to this hotel because of the location, free breakfast, friendly and helpful staff and overall value.
We booked this hotel mainly due to the price and location (very close to Universal Studios).
At $98 (for AAA members) the rate was very reasonable considering the time of year and location.
The location is great - you could literally walk to Universal and its seconds from the Interstate.
The bus doesn't run too often and that may be a problem for some people, but a taxi isn't too expensive because the hotel is so close.
On route from the airport, the shuttle was dropping off other passengers and I'd seen a HYATT PLACE on International Drive, I thought that was my hotel, but turned out it was not.
The room was nice though, the bed was comfortable, big tv.
The bedroom portion of the room had 2 queen sized beds and a sink/vanity.
However, the only way I could even tell that housekeeping had been in the room was that the throw pillow was moved back onto the bed.
The recent remodel/rennnovation has left the surroundings looking decent, but certain things have not been updated in the rooms such as the toilet, shower surrounds and tubs and 80's popcorn texture on the ceilings.
At that time, they said there was about six more room to be cleaned before a room with a king size bed that I requested 2 months ago when I made the reservation would be cleaned.
As a matter of fact, the the front desk actually extends to become part of a breakfast bar, an area with stools where guests can sit and order Starbuck's coffee, or simply eat their breakfast.
Hot food on the breakfast bar even if they just alternated two items a day as many places do and more shuttle runs from the hotel to Universal Orlando also I think they should add Sea World and Aquatica to their shuttle runs as well.
The breakfast in the morning was very good for a free breakfast-hot food (eggs, sausage), cereal, toast, bagels, pastries, juices, milk, fresh fruit-pretty much the basic essentials to hold you over until lunch.
We asked that they recommend a good restaurant, and not once did they mention that Universal (which was right across the street) has an array of restaurants from which to choose.
The breakfast bar was limited in choices but the fruit was fresh, there was yogurt, oatmeal, cereals and an assortment of breads and toppings as well as juice and coffee.
Despite the lobby area with tarps hanging and noise and workers all around, the front desk staff couldn't have been more pleasant.
Front desk service very professional, friendly and helpful.
The staff at the desk, concierge and breakfast were very welcoming.
On a final note, I didn't find the front desk staff to be very helpful.
We were allowed to check in early, 10:30 am, and the front desk girl personally showed us the pool, and the breakfast area, and escorted us to the elevator.
Even though there is construction in the lobby it wasn't obstructive.
We tried to come up with negative comments but the best we could do is that the elevator ran a little slow.
The room itself was spotless when we started so maybe we are just pigs.
The room was clean and respectable looking on arrival.
The bathroom is very small, but was clean.
Not only did it take us less than 10-15 minutes to get to Citywalk, the hotel staff were extremely helpful and kind, and our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable.

The staff provides excellent customer service. I moved the extra furniture out of the way but the room was very cluttered. Luckily, there are good restaurants and diners within walking distance because there is NO ROOM SERVICE and they only have EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE Starbucks-type food that you have to go to the front-desk area and order yourself. It's about a mile to the actual park and while it's scenic, it's not pedestrian friendly.
We ordered in one night and the food was terrible.

This was a wonderfully remodeled hotel with modern, almost European decor and a fantastic 42" plasma tv in the room. Bathroom area had granite countertops with nice fixtures, wet bar, couch with stylish dividing wall.

They have a very comfortable lobby and a handy internet room.
00 a night for the first week in April, not shabby considering it was still in the Spring Break window and walkins were paying $122. Breakfast was great, cereal and fruit are perfect. On another note the rooms were a good size even though I was with two eleven year olds.
I was a lil annoyed (with my travel agend) that while the Hyatt Place Universal is close (10min walk from City Walk & Studios) there are really no other conveniences, so once you're in the hotel you better make sure you have enough snacks, etc, cuz aside from what they sell at the hotel (overpriced) you won't have any options.
