  We arrived thinking it was going to be a regular under $150 hotel,nothing fancy, nothing out of the normal inexpensive hotel , but we found a very clean ,very safe very quite place to rest after our busy day, the rooms are big and confortable , it felt like i was staying at a studio apartment.

  Another reviewer mentioned that they do not inform you if your bed preference on the reservation cannot be met. THE GOOD: Since it was recently converted, the rooms are in decent shape. It is in the center of the room on a swivel, so one can see it from the bed or the sofa. I am anxious for Marriott to rehab their rooms.

  Other than the name Hyatt, it has nothing in common with Hyatt, especially the service. THE BAD: I just use the kiosk to check-in and hope that I have no need to interact with the hotel staff, because they are very close to useless. I estimate that the check-in procedure via the staff takes at least 10 minutes. The ‘Gallery Hosts’ have difficulties using a mouse and a computer. Or, I suppose Hyatt could get their staff trained by Mariott.

  If a flat screen tv is a must then you have it. There is not any space for suitcases, minimal closet space, When we arrived and checked in, we were told that they had not had soap (in room) for over a week. Room twice as big, hot breakfast, fun atomosphere.

  I had a 5 night stay - and think that I chose the best hotel for outside of the city, mainly because of the suite setup. Hotel details - the suites are in small buildings a lot like apartments. Rooms were comfortable and clean, a/c was new but fitful during 75-93 degree days, the maid service was okay but not 100% - biggest asset is the bed.

  THe room kind of grossed me out and I didn't want my little one who is one year old crawling on the carpet - the whole entire place just felt dirty.

  We rented a suite so we could have separation for our two little ones. The hotel is run down - the furniture is looking threadbare in the lobby.

  We made reservation for the room 3 weeks in advance – when we arrived at the hotel we were informed upfront by the local manager, Mr Chuck Hamilton, that no room was available for us and that our reservation was moved to other hotel in the area proudly informing us that it would be cheaper, in response to our repeated inquiry about the circumstances for this change the manager stated that “a message was left on our answering machine to that effect" (alas we were on vacation), they had not tried to contact our cell phones nor email us about that change. After many repeated inquiries to the reason of that “bump” the manager informed us that another group did not leave on time. As the manager tried to look into the details of our reservation he found out that the room in the neighboring hotel, of course, did not match our specifications (King size bed, pull out sofa and hot breakfast), and after a bit of whispering with his team – a solution came up! The room we got was smelly (somewhere between a deodorant and a bug spray). Horrible treatment, Horrible room, We will never go to that hotel again!

  The room was great: comfortable bed (I'm picky on this one), nice arrangement of the suit, great TV set (have to concur with the other reviewer). I swiped my credit card to confirm my identity, and the machine promptly spit out two room keys and a receipt showing the room number. The next morning, we had a decent free continental breakfast and sat at the bar. The person behind the bar never said hello. We went back to the rooms, showered and packed, then did the express check out over the TV, and left. I observed the staff interacting with other guests who had questions or needs, and they seemed friendly and helpful.

  We didn't talk to a staff person a single time during the stay - not even a brief hello. I parked the car in the free parking lot, and then we walked past the front desk to the elevators and up to our rooms. In fairness, the staff was there to help if necessary. I wonder if this is the future of hotel service?

  In theory, this is a great idea -- a self-serve hotel for a lower price. Beautiful lobby, huge plasma screen tvs, decent-but-smallish pool. The room was very comfortable, if a bit tight. The sink faucet was tilted at a funny angle and was loose, and there was only a shower (no tub). Another gentleman pointed out the problem with the milk and placed it at the bakery window, where it sat for the next 40 minutes while we ate. My $7 burrito arrived at the window 25 minutes (!

  However, the "free continental breakfast" is inadequate on every front. I used the kiosk to order the breakfast burrito, and I can't recommend ordering any hot breakfast. And a little respect from the manager/kitchen dude wouldn't hurt.

• There is another one closer to downtown, but this one is at a good location for north Austin, and has easy access to Hwy 183 and Mopac (Loop 1). The room was great as expected - comfortable bed, giant couch, big HD TV with actual HD channels to watch.

  I did happen to have the room directly across from the ice maker which is really noisy when being used, so maybe avoid that.

  The rooms were $399 and trash--BUT THIS hotel was WONDERFUL and the room was $85 + tax with my discount. Beautiful suite--couldn't ask for better.
