On Lake Taupo on the North Island, the lodge is remote, but it is definitely worth staying here. Even the Queen of England enjoys staying at this relaxing outpost. Normal guests are treated the same royalty and can count on excellent accommodation and service. You can even fish on the lake during the day before you join your party in the restaurant for a meal to remember.

    • The atmosphere was absolutely wonderful and service was friendly and quick.

          Staff were charming and knowledgeable, the rooms were very spacious, on a positive note, the food was stunning, as was the outdoor fireplace. Our private gourmet dinner was served in the library on the first night.

          Room service breakfast gorgeous, our favorites being near the outdoor fireplace and dined in a well regarded restaurant. Into the beautiful gardens.

          The river flows quietly at the foot of the private lawn and the location is utterly spectacular, feels like another kind of New Zealand. The country setting is gorgeous, the service is very good and rooms by Virginia Fisher are very cosy and pleasant. The swimming pool is great as are the two jacuzzi's either side of and food is superb.

          The surroundings, the management and staff, the food, everyrhing was absolutely superb, this place just worked for us, the room was very big and peaceful. Breakfast was excellent, my self selected dinner was quite delicious.

          From the beautiful setting to the lovely interiors, you will not be disappointed and staff are excellent. Rooms are old and not, the food is pretty good menus are fixed, the Owner's Cottage is exceptional.

          The setting is beautiful and the cottages are just amazing, huka staff pick you up from Taupo for free, the rooms are spectacular. Food is very good.
