Houston Marriott Medical Center - 休斯敦

The hotel is ideally situated in the middle of the Texas Medical Center and is a great location for access to the hospitals and clinics and Rice University.

It's also in a good central location that is convenient to some of the nicer areas of central Houston, and the Houston MetroRail, for all it's worth, has a stop just across the street from the front door.

All in all, this hotel was just OK when you factor location out of the equation.

The location is great for anyone needing to have services in the medical center and this hotel is one of the best Marriott hotels I've stayed at.

Great location and long distance calls for $10 per day.

I was given a room with a king bed when I had requested 2 double beds.

Changed rooms, the second being slightly better - but I had to turn the A/C off to not get the must smell in the room.

I did not ask to change rooms because I assumed they all had the same type of unit, and it was more important to me to have a room in a secluded part of the hotel.

The beds were soft and comfortable, and the lighting in the room was fine (though perhaps a bit on the low side for people who like a lot of light).

The room itself was reasonably well appointed but small, and I have stayed in far nicer rooms for less than these rates.

After my husband left early in the morning for his conference, I ate alone in one of the hotel's restaurants for breakfast.

The restaurant the the hotel was very good,and they provided a shuttle to other restaurants within a 2 mile radius as part of their service.

We ate at all 3 restaurants and found the food outstanding and the service above normal.

I deliberately chose this hotel over others because I felt that it would be quieter and out of the way of the usual holiday frenzy, but close enough to restaurants and shops in the Montrose area.

The service and food quality was average; having had a pretty good breakfast at a Marriott hotel in Atlanta I was not impressed with this one.

This hotel always has great service, caring staff and 12 o'clock checkout was good.

Room service extremely slow, attempts to even call room service or the front desk takes approximately 10-15 rings.

The staff was very helpful- rooms were great, heated pool and spa.

The pool area is adjacent to the fitness center, and as expected there were plenty of towels for the guests.

Not only was the renovation not completed by 9/1/06, the escalators between lobby and floor 2 were inoperable AND the pathetic antiquated elevators ran slower than aging mules.

95 for high speed internet access for 24 hours but they have no wireless.
