The location Vieux Montreal is outstanding in terms of quiet, charm (be sure to go inside the two historic bank buildings in the neighborhood) and terrific places to grab a cafe and pastry.

There are a lot of things to see and do around Old Montreal but the real shopping is underground and downtown - which you have to get to via the metro.

Easy access to metro and only a few blocks from the Central Train Station.

My husband booked a room with a whirlpool tub and queen bed; they upgraded us, they said, to a "suite" -- really just a very large single room.

The room and the bathroom are on the small side, but the bed was extremely comfortable.

We booked a room with two queen beds and when we arrived at about 4:00 in the afternoon we were shown to a room with only one bed.

When we returned to the desk, they said that was a room with two queen beds because it had a sofa bed.

The style of the rooms is neo-classical / post-colonial, with high ceilings and a large bed; the style is somewhat spare and it seems that more furniture could be used to decorate the interior.

The bar/lounge and the dining room were cheerful, well-staffed and the breakfast was very good.

We ate breakfast every day at a wonderful restaurant called Eggspectation, which is just down the street.

We didn't eat breakfast in the hotel, but the lobby bar was a hit or miss operation; sometimes it was staffed, sometimes it wasn't, and it was hard to predict.

Staff are knowledgeable and helpful, room was clean and comfortable, breakfast and internet included, 'old style' may put some people off but location and proximity to convention center, old montreal and restaurants would entice most.

The bar at the hotel was always staffed and reasonably priced, and the breakfast was absolutely incredible!

Arriving late in the afternoon the last time we stayed, the Front Desk staff called several different restaurants to get us a reservation for that evening.

The staff arranged almost everything for our wedding, from restaurants for the rehearsal dinner and reception to flowers for the church.

Those who travel know that paying extra for parking in any downtown metropolitan area is to be expected.

There is valet parking - $20 per night/ in and out privileges.

Valet parking is about $20 (Canadian) per day and well worth it.

Wireless internet works well, but it is not free.

Internet access (wifi high speed) is available, but is pay-to-play.

Rooms were clean, tastful with all the amenities one would expect for this price point.

We stayed here for 2 nights - The room was beautiful, clean, fancy toiletries and exceptional staff.

Bathroom is very clean and, unlike an earlier report, we had no problem with the hand shower as it is easy to place it in the holder and use as a fixed shower to wash your hair.

The bathroom is clean, breakfast is rather good.

Rooms were clean, the breakfast was great.
