Hotel Villa Romana Minori

The "second" location has a couple of rooms on the top floor that are absolute death traps.

The time spent at Villa Romana was very pleasant, not flashy like some big city hotels, but quiet, clean and in a good, central location.

It's not as busy as other towns, but the location is convenient if you'd like to visit other towns along the coast.

On arrival at a crowded Naples airport in hot sunshine we were eventually linked up and that the hotel itself was a very nice 4 star hotel.

Cheap bus ride away from plenty of good towns and its amazing the Italians fly on little cliffside roads.

The bed linen was not changed daily nor were the towels unless left in the bathroom.

Our room was a bit small, but comfortable and previous comments notwithstanding, the bath was clean and toilet paper soft.

The hotel room was cleaned once a day, however not enough to rid the bathroom of ants - other hotels I would later discover clean their bathrooms 2 to 3 times a day.

This principally sea food restaurant could hold its own with any in London or in other Amalfi coast towns.

You can eat far better if you want to stay in Minori at the excellent L' Arsenale restaurant just around the corner.

Whilst the reception staff at Villa Romana are quite friendly, the hotel management doesn't seem to have much of a clue about running a (4 star) hotel, however, long they have been doing it for.

Anyone in the pool area could see directly into our room, as could guests and staff using the rear staircase and the staff attending to the washing on the laundry terrace.

I would also like to point this out for people renting cars for travel between the towns of the Amaifi Coast: Parking is expensive!

We got a rental car as part of a packaged deal, and parking tacked on an additional 120 Euro to our trip.

The rooms were always spotless and so were the public areas.
