My husband and I have just returned from a wonderful week at Su Gologone, which was one of the best hotel experiences we have ever had, at any price.

Breathtaking location, wonderful food at surpisingly good prices and every room with a different interior.

The hotel is in lovely grounds in a rural location - plenty of quiet spaces to relax and enjoy the scenery.

Su Gologone and it's location gives one great insight into the non-touristed areas of the Island.

Allow plenty of travelling time if you are returning to Cagliari Airport along the east coast road - the journey is beautiful through the mountains, but easily takes a good 4 hours).

Our room featured a 4-poster king-sized bed hung with hand-embroidered textiles.

The rooms are a bit of a luck of the draw, we started out in an older room (#63) which were very nice but there were few windows and no ventilation.

For the other three nights we were in a deluxe room with a vast terrace shared with other rooms - again with fabulous views of the mountains.

Our room was spacious, with a sitting area outdoors, but was slightly tatty, especially the bathroom.

Rooms were very clean and nicely decorated.

We ate in the restaurant, which specialises in local cuisine.

This restaurant consistently had some of the best and freshest food ever to have touched my lips.

The dining room had a terrific atmosphere and the restaurant was clearly frequented by lots of locals as well as hotel guests.

Located about 45 minutes from the coast, this tremendous Restaurant / Hotel will help you experience the true Sardinia.

Before we talk about the Restaurant / Hotel lets talk about all there was to do around it: Hiking, Caving, Quad Biking Trails.

From the front desk staff to the dining room waitresses, everyone was extremely friendly and helpful, and proud to share their Sardinian culture with visitors.

The reception staff were wonderful and couldnt do enough to help.

It was really just outstanding and the service was wonderful.

The staff was exceedingly friendly during our stay.

Enormous pool within a beautiful garden, great views, and a very kind staff.

Breakfast was very good, taken on an open terrace with vir=ews of the pool and the mounatins, but there were certainly a lot of wasps around!

The swimming pool is large and is in a relaxing spot although I would agree with a previous reviewer that it was quite chilly!

    All very good quality, the staff were very accommodating for a 6 y and a sunny private terrace made the room very special. The cuisine was excellent.

    Good value hotel and attentive staff. A private balcony and meals superb. The evening enjoying glasses of sparkling wine at the terrace bar and the pool large.
