Hotel Splendid Baveno

Good beach, quiet location and a beautiful hotel in a beautiful setting.

The lake location was wonderful, the Hotel was recently renovated and the staff was very friendly to us.

Fantastic location lakeside and the garden near the hotel.

Other places either on foot or water bus or train, gives good access to Lake Maggiore and staff is very helpful in arranging tours.

In the evening, as we were at dinner, the beds were turned down and chocolates were left for us on the bed - a nice touch.

The rooms are comfortable - would definitely recommend a lake view, but if you don't want to pay the extra, you do always get the lovely lake view from the dining room each day, so all is not lost!

In the evening, after dinner, I decided to sit out on the balcony and write while my friend was going through her luggage and getting ready for bed/next day.

Rooms are well appointed with bath shower & WC Maid service is good and food is excellent with friendly waiter service as you would expect from a hotel of this standard.

The lake side room 412 was excellent with clean bedding and towels every day.

The balconies over the lake are beautiful, the best is the breakfast on the terrasse or sitting in the bar area in the evening overlooking the Lago Maggiore and the architecture of the hotel is amazing.

Nice outdoor bar area and has good links to other towns by boat.

The dinner and breakfast were buffet style and my waiter was a very nice elderly man who was easy to talk to and joke around with.

The breakfast buffet was certainly on a par or above other hotels we stayed at in Austria and Germany.

I recommend the La Posta restaurant in the main square.

The hotel has a good gym and excellent service.

Gardens all made our stay there very pleasant and the service was excellent.

I've never seen a staff so enthusiastic to host a large group of teenagers.

The facilities are good, with a pool and a small gym (which didn't seem to get used by anyone other than us, so that was a bonus).

They did not seem to mind us running from the saunas and jacuzzi (the outdoor pool was not filled yet) to the sea and back, accidentally tracking sand through the halls, but the staff told us not to worry about the sand and to just go on having fun.

The hotel had a great indoor parking garage, so clean you could eat off the floor.

In addition the hotel was absolutely beautiful, staff went out of their way to ensure we were well taken care of and the room was spotless.

Friendly staff, clean and spacious room, the breakfast selection was excellent.

Baveno was a good choice of resort as is a centre for the lake steamers and the rooms are clean.
