We stayed in a Japanese-style room with a breathtaking view right at the heart of the park, steps away from the Kappa bridge. The staff was incredibly welcoming and helpful. The hotel’s common areas are cozy, perfect to unwind after a day of hiking in the beautiful valley. Buffet breakfast offered a variety of delicious options. Onsen was a great addition to our experience, and the tatami mats were new and clean.

The hotel lacked Wi-Fi in the rooms, which could be inconvenient for some travelers.

The hotel is in an excellent location, close to all sorts of hiking trails and with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and river. Miss Nakayama at reception was friendly and helpful, providing great advice for exploring the area. Clara in the restaurant served delicious Japanese-style meals with a French twist. The rooms were comfortable, with traditional tatami flooring, large windows for enjoying the views, and fresh towels and bed linen provided.

The hotel does not have a lounge or communal area for guests to relax in outside of their rooms.

My partner and I had a romantic escape in the mountains and couldn't have been happier with our choice. We booked a room with a stunning view of the mountain range and river. We enjoyed the traditional Japanese half-board which included a delicious breakfast buffet and a dinner of exquisite Japanese cuisine. The staff were accommodating and friendly, and the location was ideal for our nature hikes and walks.

We did notice that the cleanliness of the carpet could be improved, and the room did not have air conditioning which was uncomfortable during the warm summer evenings. while the dinner was delicious, the portions were quite small, which left us feeling a bit hungry.
