I had a fantastic stay at a charming hotel near the city center. The room was spacious and quiet, allowing for a restful night's sleep. The location was ideal, with easy access to shops, amenities, and the nearby river. The French atmosphere in the restaurant was delightful. The staff were friendly and helpful, making me feel welcome throughout my stay. I highly recommend this hotel for its wonderful ambiance and convenient location.

The downtown is within 10 minutes' walk. Standard double room was with multi-channel television and a writing table.

Helpful staff and big room. We loved to chill in the nearby Kastaniengarten. Moreover, it had a public parking which was definitely a bonus.

We booked the hotel for 1 night coming back from Italy. We had a 4- person room which was nice and large. Only item missing that I can think of perhaps is a small fridge/mini-bar. Location was perfect for us, easy connection to the highway, and at walking distance to the city center where there are plenty of shops, terraces and restaurants to spend the afternoon/evening. Car had to be parked in the street of the hotel (doesn't seem to be a problem in that area) so no secured parking space (only 4 places in front of the hotel which you can reserve (and pay for).

The hotel is in a great spot, just outside the old town and opposite the tram stop. You can easily get to the river, which is a nice spot to relax. I also enjoyed dining in the restaurant, which was convenient. The room and bathroom were clean and spacious, with great facilities. Service was friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was delicious.
Some noise from the street and other guests could be heard at times, which disturbed my sleep.

Nice reception staff
Location, it was by far the hotel I have least liked from the point of view of traffic noise. This was not clear on the booking and as a result we had a sleepless night due to traffic noise.

The hotel was within walking distance to the centre of Freiburg. The breakfast was good, and the breakfast room was beautifully "old world".
I booked a discounted room at 79eur, and was told on arrival this was a room at the front of the hotel on a very busy and noisy street. I had to pay 20eur extra for a room on the side, which was still quite noisy. The "on street" parking would be a pain for a long stay but ok for a single night. It was a very warm night, so the fan (no aircon) was not adequate. The room itself was fine but we did notice some dust - like on the fan. I would stay again if I could ensure a room at the back of the hotel - probably by booking direct with the hotel.

This hotel is a hidden gem, with a great value for money. The location is unbeatable, just across the bridge from the entrance to the Old Town and by the riverside, offering beautiful views of the Schwabentor Bridge. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the rooms are spacious and equipped with modern amenities. Plus, the breakfast spread is amazing, providing a perfect start to the day.
No major issues, everything was satisfactory.

I enjoyed my stay very much. The location was perfect for wandering in the old town. The room was clean, very comfortable bed and the breakfast was excellent. I also felt your staff - a lovely young woman who manned the reception desk and took care of breakfast and helped with a map, was terrific. I wish I had gotten her name, but please extend our compliments to her. A business is only as good as the employees and she was lovely. Thank you.
There was nothing negative about the hotel.

Not much! We only stayed one night. The hotel seems to be in transitioning remodel. The staff was professioinal and courteous. The "double" bed is two singles pushed together so dampens the ability to snuggle as a couple. The pillows are very uncomfortable. The "linens" are something to get used to. I will also add that it seems most hotels are set up this way for some reason. My guess is to allow furniture moving up narrow stairs. We stayed at the Schiller out of necessity, not by choice.
The floors creaked really bad and are in need of repair. The city traffic on the main thoroughfare could be heard all night. One way streets and little parking make things inconvenient.

It is well located and in walking distance into the heart of the city. It is a nice historical building.
The bed was too uncomfortable. The double bed was 2 separate single beds attached.
