Hotel Santo Cologne - 科隆

The location is extremely convenient and the hotel is located north of the central station.

The location was perfect for visiting the City and hotel was very well located.

Although the location is quite close to the dom cathedral (its about a 20 minute walk away), it does appear quite far especially in the freezing cold.

We stayed here for 2 nights midweek and would definitely use hotel again as it is close to the main railway station (make sure you look at map prior to arrival as it IS easy to get to when you know where you are going, not worth getting a taxi!

Taxi drivers are less than accomodating to take you a short distance.

Our room was fine, very clean, wooden floors, stone floored modern bathroom, no smoking, shower no bath, TV (only german programmes and CNN news) but nowhere to sit/relax in the room after a hard day out and about.

The double room was a nice size, with wooden floors, super comfortable beds, nice linens, and windows that opened (and when closed they were completely soundproof).

Nice size room, the toilet is convenient and the breakfast is excellent.

Last thing was the walls of the rooms leading to the hotel corridor were paper thin, if someone was in the corridor they could have been in your room as the echo and their voices were really loud, not great if you want a little lie in!

The rooms and public areas are full of interesting features, like illuminated room numbers on the floor outside each room.

We weren't even sure if we were going to be able to get dinner as Hotel Santo has a large breakfast room but no restaurant.

Due to the location i would be more inclined to stay at the crown plaza as its a good base for shops, restaurants and bars etc.

There was adequate choice of cooked food, cold meats/cheeses, fresh fruit and fresh fruit juice at breakfast, and staff always prepared to quickly replenish.

The breakfast was really nice and the staff were friendly and helpful.

The staff allow you a relaxed, the shower is the best shower in the world and very good breakfast/reception excellent people very nice.

Reception staff very helpfull and friendly, bar prices much the same as outside the hotel including the mini bar, which was a godsend.

The surroundings were quiet, all in all i had a very pleasant stay at hotel Santo and the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.

It's modern minimalist decor is very urban Germanic, and the free wireless internet really is free!
