The convent location was also very near the beautiful Arno river.
My criteria for lodging selection were to find a quiet, clean, basic accommodation in a great location at a value price.
The location is excellent and the place is very clean and bright.
Good location, a great place to stay on a budget and the building was lovely.
But, for what you pay, the location, accommodation and security is great.
The beds in both rooms were a little stiff, but there were plenty of extra blankets in the room to add a little bit of padding under the sheets.
The building was lovely and the bedroom (with private bath) was large and nicely decorated.
The bed was very comfy, the breakfast was light and healthy.
We had our own bath but never saw anyone queueing at the shared baths.
The bathrooms were not private for the most part, but there were four very close to our room and getting one was never a problem.
Breakfast was simple, but with the rich and complex food (and the wonderful gelato) we ate at other times, that was certainly not a problem.
Anyway, we began to skip the breakfast in favor of food elsewhere.
The window was huge, the breakfast was adequate and the receptionists were very warm and helpful.
Water pressure were fine and breakfast was wonderful.
The breakfast was adequate with good coffee and rolls and juice.
Staff are very friendly, the windows are modern and the lovely private walled-in garden is open to all quests.
Towels were replaced by the staff when they got soiled.
One receptionist does, if you are lucky to arrive when she is on duty.
Nuns speak little english - primarily italian or french - but office staff do.
No lift, but the stairs are so beautiful, it was a treat to walk up them!
Make sure to spend time in the convent's lovely garden.
The neighborhood is about a 20 minute walk to the town center and the convent and garden are really lovely.
The staff are extremely helpful and friendly, bathrooms are kept spotless, that Americans always use to dry fine glassware.
The rooms are very clean and simple, the garden of the convent is very tranquil.
The bathroom was clean and breakfast was continental.
No frills place to stay that was clean, the private bathroom was large and the breakfast was a basic continental.
PROS: A real convent, very close to the major sights, nice garden, spacious rooms, very clean, good dinner option, great price.
