Augustine, its a wonderful boutique hotel with reasonable prices, great staff, clean rooms and great steam showers.
The location was good (on the southern end of South Beach) with nice proximity to the beach (2 blocks from Lummus Park) and within walking distance of shopping and restaurants.
The location is great go out the door & make a right and you are in the heart of the action.
In my opinion, the hotel's appeal is best for young professionals or couples who want a clean, comfy modern room in a great location.
This isn’t really a downside, as we thought it was nice to stay in a smaller, boutique type hotel, but just to give you fair warning when you get out of the taxi cab for the first time.
It just MAKES the place, and fyi, don't use the shower and the steam at the same time because the steam comes out by the bottom corner below the shower head and will burn the crap out of your foot.
As others have mentioned, it's not advisable to room with someone you don't want to see naked because the shower door is clear glass and the bedroom/bathroom is all essentially in one open room.
Our room had curtains up that separated the bedroom area from the bathroom area.
The shower is literally in the same room as the bed.
There was a nice looking room service menu from an Italian cafe about 2 blocks down, but unless you're into eating pasta in bed or maybe in the shower?
When we got to our "queen" room it was very small and dark, which would have been fine had we not found hair on the bed sheets (and not the kind that grows on the scalp).
All of the rooms at the hotel are clean and nicely decorated, as is the lobby and bar/breakfast area.
They serve a nice continental breakfast each morning with plenty of foods to chose from, and if that isn't enough just steps away are plenty of restaurants for any taste or budget.
Light breakfast which is perfect & excellent coffee is served in the bar area.
We didn't get up early enough for the breakfasts or hang around for afternoon cocktails in the tiny bar -- mostly seemed like a social hour for those staying there rather than a full-fledged hotel bar.
The bar wasn't open, so it just served as a spot for the continental breakfast, which was actually pretty good as far as they go.
The staff at the front desk are very engaging and helpful with whatever you need, and seeing as how I spent three weeks there with a group, I needed lots of things and it was never a problem.
Mike (the late night staff at the front desk was very thoughtful to us (and other guests) and put breakfast out earlier than 8 a.
In contrast, Mike (the late nite front desk staff) could not have been nicer.
There was a young woman who staffed the front desk when the manager wasn't there and she was really helpful.
Pros included proximity to major highways, parking, and the exquisite spa shower.
Who needs a pool when the ocean is out side your front door!
Every the loveable chocolate lab that lounges in the lobby remembers returning guests with a big smile.
Everything was perfectly clean, in the rooms and out.
All of the rooms were spotlessly clean and well cared for.
The rooms are very clean and have a nice feel.
Cons: The room and shower are visible with clear glass walls.
The steam shower was fine, but a clean, comfortable room would have been better.
