This 1937 art deco hotel was remade by Abba legend Benny Andersson and has a pop-oriented design. It's a chic place and has a lively weekend bar scene. There's a café/bakery, the rooms are enjoyable, and the staff is young and efficient.

Overview

Located in the central stylishly bohemian district of Sodermalm on the beautiful southern island of Stockholm, the Hotel Rival overlooks the remarkable tree lined Mariatorget Square.

Within walking distance there are the remarkable Royal Palace, the interesting and imposing building of the City Hall, Skansen Zoo with Scandinavian animals such as elk, wolves and bear, the world's most powerful warship Vasa Ship.

Moreover, the Slussen T-bana underground station and Stockholm Sodra train station create perfect public transport connection. It will take you only 5 minutes to get to Stockholm Stadsmuseum, Maria Magdalena forsamling and Stockholm moske.

This 4-star venue, originally opened in 1937, has been shaped and restored by Benny Andersson & partners into a 1930's Art Deco red velvet cinema with interior that combines functionality and form, unique details of Kasthall woven rugs, matte oak floors and lacquered orange walls.

All 99 guestrooms include orange ottomans, pink chairs, polka dot lampshades and red leather sofas. They also feature flat screen TV, luxurious Egyptian cotton sheets, comprehensive pillow menu, air conditioning, bathroom with hairdryer, large bath towels and linen handtowels, Crabtree & Evelyn bathroom amenities, retractable mirror with magnifier, soft dressing gown and slippers.

You are also offered cocktail bar, cafe, bakery bistro, salon for 700 people and conference rooms.

You will definitely want to come back after you stay in the Hotel Rival.

Very comfortable room, the cocktail bar is beautiful and i didn't have the opportunity to try the restaurant.
were well designed, the bar was very friendly and breakfast buffet was delicious.
Excellent use of design, in comparison to we live the prices are high and the free internet access at the lobby etc.
