I couldn't reccomend this hotel for Florence, and certainly not by car - If you want to travel around tuscany however, it's great and good value.
We will definately stay at this location again!
This a very good location for visiting many points in the Chianti region with a car.
He was very helpful with getting reservations for different sites we wanted to see, arranging taxi's and overall general information we needed.
We were within steps of the train station but did not have any issues at night with hearing the train.
We had a 2 bedroom apartment for 5 people and it was more than enough room.
Our room was very large with bedroom, big bathroom (very small shower though), livingroom, kitchenette and a deck surrounding the entire building that provided a wonderful view of Figline.
My wife and I travel with our children and we were all VERY pleased with how clean and comfortable our apartment was and after staying in several midget size hotel rooms at other stops on this trip, all the room was appreciated.
There was no hairdryer in the room though, which was disappointing.
We had heard that rooms in Italy were small.
There are several bakeries and restaurants within minutes walking distance in town that are some of the best we went to.
The old figline town (3 min walk) is quite nice, with some great restaurants.
Check out the restaurant past the main square in the 4* hotel - a magic venue.
He can answer any questions you may have, give you advice on where to eat or where to visit.
The employees at the front desk were not super friendly, but cordial and helpful.
The hotel manager, Stefano, was wonderful.
The manager was very knowledgeable about the area as well as getting around Florence.
If you are without a car, then being next door to the station (don't worry there is very little noise even on the station side of the hotel) you can still be in Florence within 20 minutes and without the problems of parking!
We unfortuantely got a parking ticket on one day and didn't have a clue what to do.
The apartments contain everything you needed to self cater, were clean and roomy.
The hotel was scarily clean and the room was in prestine condition, had all the facilities you could want with Air-Con and a great view.
Our room was very simple, but clean and we had a lovely terrace to sit on with a great view of the city.
