Hotel Repubblica Marinara Pisa - 比萨

The location is not ideal, as it is a good 25 minute walk to the Leaning Tower, situated in no-mans' land.

Quiet location even in a busy town, we used this hotel just for one night visit and the staff is very friendly.

The hotel's worst point is its location -25 minutes from the old city, further from the best shops and the Tower- but a bus stops adjacent to the hotel, and tickets were only around 65p.

We asked for a taxi back to the airport and were taken by courtesy coach.

You'll need to take a taxi to the airport anyways and that only cost us 10 euros.

The bedroom was very spacious with a king size bed, bathroom was very clean although no bath.

We dropped in for a one-night-stopover in Pisa and were given a spacious room with one double bed and two single beds inside which was a rather strange impression.

First of all, my idea of a 4 star queen size bed is not 2 single beds pushed together.

The superior room at the Repubblica Marinara was reasonably spacious, and the facilities fine - good sized, comfortable double bed, reasonable shower, good breakfast.

But the TV didn't work, the lights in the bathroom didn't work, the controls for lighting other parts of the suite made no sense.

No as the bar was closed,we then asked for tea making facilitys and again No ,we then tried to have an evening meal at the hotel and yet another No the restaurant did not open Sundays.

There are no "bar meals" at this hotel, we were pointed in the direction of a pizzeria at the end of the road as we could not face the over-blown restaurant menu.

The hotel staff were extremely helpful, the rooms were excellent as was the breakfast and the restaurant was very nice.

Since the shuttle is rarely available, pick another hotel in Pisa that at least you can walk out your front door to see the sites if you like.

Nonetheless, it's comfortable, very convenient -especially if you have a car because they have ample parking space- and correctly priced.

It is very far from tourist areas (although in its favour it does have parking).
