The staff are friendly and helpful, the lobby and common areas are nicely done, and the location, in the center, close to all attractions and shopping is hard to beat.

The charge is 570 UAH ($114) for a ride to the airport while a taxi that we hailed on the street, just at the entrance to the hotel, charged us 150 UAH ($30) for the same ride.

Everything was well done on my trip to Kiev -- picked up at the airport on time.

My only complaints would be that the room was way too hot (but turning off the heat and opening my windows did the trick) and that my bed was VERY firm.

I stayed in a room with a king size bed on the 4th floor.

The room was fantastic including the comfort of the mattress, the marble bathroom, incredibly high ceilings, first-class wall and window coverings as well as the overall feel of the room.

When you enter the room for the first time you should ask the porter who brought your luggage to wait for a few minutes, go over every corner of the room and the bathroom and make a list of all the small scratches and all the defects.

There was a letter from management informing me that the cleaning lady found that I had damaged the bath tub and that they were adding 1,500 Ukraine Hryvnia (UAH) (about $300) to my bill as a repair fee.

The restaurant on the 8th floor allows to get a view of the nice cloister - really worthwile, the breakfast buffet is of good quality and front desk are very helpful.

The hotel is pricey but at that price point it also included an excellent buffet breakfast in their 8th floor restaurant with a panoramic view of Kiev.
