Plevna Hotel Sliema

Very central located for walks along the sea front plenty of good restaurants suitable for older couples without children, is that is near the city center -Valetta -the capital of Malta and the hotel is in a perfect location for exploring all of Malta.

Otherwise the location of the hotel is very good, a couple of blocks away from the busy waterfront but still close to everything.

The hotel is in a good location, very close to the Sliema seafront and just a few minutes walk to the harbour, where you can take buses to almost anywhere on the island and also hop on the ferry over to Valletta.

When we arrived and entered the hotel we found a clean and air conditioned atmosphere, which was very thankful after a long flight and bumpy taxi ride.

You'd need a taxi to get up to St Julien's and paceville at night.

Anyway, on our first day at the hotel, we entered our room only to be surprised by Reno, more about this lad later, who was lashing two single beds together which had shortly before dressed with double sheets and bed spread.

The bed in the city suite we stayed in was brilliant and the staff was kind.

My room and bathroom were both kept wonderfully clean and the towels changed everyday.

Our room was nice enough, 2 beds, a small balcony, a fridge so you could put your own snacks/water inside, 2 big closets.

Towels changed daily and bed linen twice a week.

All inclusive with a good selection of Food, snacks and drinks with the staff in the bar and the restaurant always cheerful and helpful.

The food was excellent with a wonderful choice for breakfast that I only needed a sandwich at lunch time until the evening meal of which there was so much choice and all delicious and plentiful.

Didn't use the bar or restaurant facilities, although I think only people who were on All Inclusive basis would have.

If you keep an eye on the forums, i'll post some restaurant and bar names that we went to and enjoyed.

Whatever colour your card, you are required to carry it about your person at all times, well at least until the bar and restaurant staff get to know you.

Excellent service by friendly staff and a good choice of dishes for a breakfast.

Quiet location, good overall value for money and reception-desk staff were very polite.

I know alot of that wasn't about hotel, but the hotel staff set up airport taxi's for us, and car rental, taxi's to town at night and recommended other services so it made everything so much easier.

Whilst the staff in general were quite helpful and friendly at least on reception, the hotel has an odd feel about it.

The back of the kettle plug was missing, exposing live wires, 2 out of the three lifts did not work at all, the remaining lift only working intermittently.

The elevators were fine, and although they made funny sounds sometimes, I've seen much much worse.

We didn't use the beach club (there are way too many beautiful spots to explore other than a hotel pool!

The staff were friendly and the rooms were clean.

Rooms were properly clean, the buffet breakfast was excellent.

When we arrived we asked to move rooms as some of them are very small, however with 2 girls sharing with lots of luggage that might not be a problem for some, they are cleaned daily though with clean towells.

Near bars, clean changing/toilet facilities and liked the service including at the restaurant.
