Hotel Playa La Arena

Spacious grounds in quiet location with just enough to do in the area.

This hotel had everything we wanted - great location, great room with sea views, great facilities and good food.

The staff, the rooms, the wonderful variety of delicious food, the pool areas, the location, and even the other guests (a perfect mix of all ages and nationalities) - everything is just perfect.

Our room was spacious with ample wardrobe space to hang clothes for a family of four, a 6' bed and a sofa bed which made 2 full size single beds, a dressing table and a coffee table.

Our room had plenty of space to put in bunk beds for the kids rather than a sofa bed which we left as a bed the entire holiday.

The suite had two big rooms each with own bathroom, and there were doors for each bedroom off the entry - nice for some adult privacy!

Rooms are cleaned and towels changed daily, and bed sheets every three days.

The bathroom has a shower, bath (with another shower over), toilet, sink and bidet!

Snacks and drinks reasonably priced in hotel snack bar if you wanted lunch, (5-6 euros for salads, Pizza, hamburger or hot-dog and chips and soft drink or beer) but if you wanted to eat out plenty of restaurants/ cafes a couple of minutes walk away.

You can also eat in the main dining room at lunch, but we found eating by the pool bar added variety.

Happy Hour in pool side bar - drinks 2for1, poolside restaurant does a great buffet lunch for 14 and wine is cheap too.

The main restaurant always had a good varied choice of food which should satisfy most tastes with breakfasts and evening puddings being especially good.

With themed nights(Spanish,Italian,Chinese to name but a few)anyone that does like Chinese food we would recomend the Chinese restaurant located just outside the hotel on the main street next to the Highland Paddy bar.

However, even then, although the staff were a bit stretched, the service was still very good and there was still no need to get up at the crack of dawn to reserve sunbeds.

This hotel is special, the service, rooms, food and friendly staff make it a place to remember.

The reception staff are excellent - as are all the other staff too, the water slide is by the heated pool and the food is always well presented and fresh.

We used the gym a couple of times and also had a massage at the spa - excellent facility to have on site, they even give massages around the pool and at the Oasis publi pool ihn Los Gigantes.

The kids club is located quite a distance away from the pool area and is reached via a long underground hallway off the main lobby.

There are lifts to all floors and even a lift that takes you right down to the seafront road below, where there are some bars, shops, restaurants, supermarkets and a nice black sand beach, which has a blue flag.

The room was very spacious and clean, no complaints at all.
