Hotel Place D'Armes Montreal - 蒙特利尔

Overall room was very nice, great location and Sophie rectified the negative situation to our full satisfaction.

In terms of location, we were there for Jazz Fest and could see the festival location from our window - both the festival (and the Latin Quarter), as well as Old Montreal, are very close and this hotel is perfectly located.

The hotel is located near the waterfront and the old town (this area is a little touristy but we felt it was a great location to be in).

As for Downtown, it's definitely walkable at about a mile away (to the Underground City), but if you don't want to walk, the closest metro is only 2 blocks away (Place D'Armes stop) and a short ride into Downtown.

Metro station, providing quick access to all parts of the city, just over a block away.

I walked into my room and found music softly playing, a large standard room with natural lighting, a large comfortable bed, a large bathroom (shower only) and was delivered cookies and water that evening.

My room (a single but with plenty of space) has exposed brick walls on 2 sides, black wood floors with rug, very comfortable bed, elegant furniture, immaculately clean black-and white-bathroom.

The rooms and location can't be beat - large comfortable beds, sitting area with large windows, CD/DVD player, plushly furnished and a huge bathroom with a jacoozi tub and free-standing shower.

The room we had was a balcony suite, with king size bed, fireplace, and a patio.

The room was fantastic, and the bathroom was spectacular, with an amazing shower and separate free standing bath tub.

The highlight of our stay was eating in a superb restaurant - Bonapartes - excellent French cuisine - go for the sampler menu (which is more a many course meal) and Terriers wine (great).

We found the bar to be fun and friendly, the downstairs restaurant to be outstanding for dinner, and the hideaway lunch BBQ restaurant on the roof to be literally over the top.

BREAKFAST CAUTION - On our first day eating breakfast, we were presented menus by the waitstaff which had larger breakfasts than the continental breakfast on the counter, french toast, omelettes, etc.

The restaurant AIX was EXCELLENT, as was the food in the bar (you can order from the AIX menu in the bar).

The lounge is a bar at night and when the bar closes, staff would move the furniture for the morning breakfast!

The staff were terrific whether it was room service, concierge or front desk staff all were polite, friendly and professional.

Like the front desk, expect service from a youthful, not thoroughly trained staff.

The gym had great Life Fitness equipment, too!

The gym was very decent, with free weights.

Coffee, tea, cappuccino and espresso are available in the lobby at all times, which is a nice bonus.

There is a desk with high-speed Ethernet, dial-up, and power.

The cable is free, but for the wireless, there is a daily charge.

The room was always clean and fresh and it appeared that the bar was the "hottest" one in the area for people watching in a city that really never sleeps!

The room was immaculately clean, large, beautifully appointed.

Everything was perfect and first-class from the very friendly and helpful staff to the extremely clean, elegant, and comfortable room.

First, the positivies: large, comfortable, clean rooms - it does not have the feel of a boutique European hotel in the least (at least not in appearences).

The rooms were very clean and the linen very plush and comfortable.
