Hotel Off The Square Christchurch - 基督城

Named for the odd shape of the rooms rather than its location, the hotel was ideally situated for anyone wanting to be right in the centre of Christchurch – just off Cathedral Square.

Interesting communal seating areas, lots of good restaurants nearby and the location of the hotel was by far the best thing about.

The location also meant easy access to the city square, shopping areas and city bars.

The hotel was ideally located for the centre of the city, and getting around on foot was not a problem.

Having the tram station right outside the entrance was great.

The bed was comfortable, the shower had great pressure, and the whole layout and display of the room was outstanding!

Bathroom was ace, bed was nottoohard nottoosoft (a pleasure after all the rock hard mattresses where I'm living in China!

The size is good, the bed is big and comfy, and the apartment is well fitted out with all of the mod-cons and comforts items such as tea and coffee.

Grossly overpriced rooms, no dining room, room and bathroom were so small that they constituted a physical hazard.

The location was pretty central and the bed was of good quality.

Its location in the heart of the city allowed us to move around easily and although the hotel restaurant was not open every night most the good restaurants were just a few minutes walk.

I got some great advice on local restaurants from the guy who checked me in, had a bit of a walk around, a bite to eat, and went back to wallow in my jetlag!

The hotel did not have a resturant but there was a resturant for breakfast at the front entrance.

Blackout curtains - perfect for the jetlagged and excellent French Restaurant next door.

You just have to walk out the door to have the ATM machine, the restaurants, a 25 minute tour cable car literally goes in front of the front door, even a few churches, if you are so inclined.

The staff were very helpful offering many suggestions for not only the city, the hotels location was 's best attribute and the reception guy was very friendly.

The parking is fine and easy to access, there are two lifts one to the car park, and one within the hotel.

The hotel has underground car parking too to keep the hire car secure.

For example the receptionist accidentally charged us twice for car parking.

Moreover the free wireless internet was great.

Wireless Internet Access made it the perfect place to get some work done.

The room was on the small side but I found everything to be clean and tidy, and the balcony was a bonus for us smokers.

Also the rooms were clean and comfortable.
