This four-star hotel, situated in the heart of Lisbon, in Baixa Pombalina district, where Rossio square and the historical St. George’s castle are just a few steps away.

Hotel Mundial was firstly opened in 1958 and since then it has been improved and renovated, the last being in 2004. Because of the hotel`s privileged location, guests can take advantages of the panoramic view from the 8th floor of the hotel’s Veranda de Lisboa restaurant or explore the historic part of the city by walking.

The hotel offers 350 rooms, including three suites, which are decorated in a traditional style and feature the following facilities: telephone, air conditioning, satellite TV, individual safe, mini-bar, hairdryer, wireless internet access and 24 hour room service.

Hotel Mundial has two restaurants, a bar and a wine cellar, where wine tasting sessions with sommeliers can be arranged. There is Jardim do Mundial restaurant on the first floor and Varanda de Lisboa restaurant on the 8th floor with a beautiful view of the old city.

The Hotel Mundial has two restaurants and a bar. Varanda de Lisboa panoramic restaurant is situated on the top floor and serves Portuguese and International cuisine. It offers lunch from 12.30pm to 3pm and dinner from 7.30pm to 10.30pm accompanied by piano music (every day except Sundays). On the first floor of the hotel there is the Jardim Mundial restaurant which offers light meals from regional and international cuisine, throughout the day. A buffet breakfast is served here from 7am to 10.30am. Between lunch and dinner hours and until 11pm it serves snacks. The lobby bar is open from 10am to 1am and offers a variety of Portuguese and international drinks and wines from the hotel’s wine cellar.

Hotel Mundial offers conference services in six meeting rooms from 50 to 190sqm. Every room can transform its dimensions and can accommodate from 30 to 150 people. All meeting rooms feature the following facilities: desks, digital and analogue telephone lines, wireless hotspots in the rooms, flipchart, screen, TV and video, microphones and datashow. Besides, all guestrooms are equipped with desk and wireless internet access.

A very nice hotel, pity the front of house service was not up to the same standard and in overall for the price we have paid was ok.
Staff was very friendly and our room was extremely clean.
Our rooms were clean and the breakfast we took in the top floor resturant was very good.

Getting there

To reach the hotel from the airport you can take taxi (10-15 minutes), rent a car or use public transport. If you choose public transport you should know that aerobus from the Lisbon National Airport circulates every day between 7.45am and 8.45pm, departures every 20 minutes. By car from the Airport square go all the way down the Almirante Gago Coutinho Avenue heading for Areeiro/Centro, at the Areeiro Roundabout, 3rd exit – Almirante Reis Avenue and then down the avenue until you reach Martim Moniz Square and Hotel Mundial.

Getting around

At the Martim Moniz Square (100 meters) there is a bus station (nr.8), tram station (nr.28) and metro station Martim Moniz (green line). To explore the city and suburb you can rent a car right in the hotel and use hotel`s park service free of charge.
