The hotel's general manager immediately apologized, filed out an incident report and assured me that the hotel would pay for the expense of replacing the sun roof.
Located almost at the corner of Thomas Jefferson and M Street; fabulous location!
I booked this room because of its location and close proximity to Washington Harbor.
The BEST location in Georgetown, down a side street, quiet, but VERY close to everything --- restaurants, shops, etc.
The location is great - one-half block from M Street with many very good restaurants, about a block and a half from the Georgetown Connection shuttle bus stop which will take you right to the Foggy Bottom Metro Station for a dollar.
From the Foggy Bottom Metro station you can get within a 10 minute walk of anywhere in D.
The hotel is an all suite with the rooms having a sitting room and bedroom area both of which have televisions.
We were then sent back to the Georgetown Suites and given a bigger room, but also just one bed.
I stayed in the basic room and had a seating room with two couches, a tv, a refridgerator, and a microwave (great for leftovers from all the restaurants), a nice bathroom, big bedroom, and an area to set up my laptop for work.
Our room was spacious, very clean, with a comfortable bed.
We upgraded our room to a King suite since there was no tub in the Queen suite we had.
The restaurants are fabulous and reasonably priced (there is an excellent italian restaurant named Fino very nearby).
Many great Georgetown shops, the hotel also serves a continental breakfast each morning and the staff was very kind and helpful.

The hotel is half a block off the main street in Georgetown with numerous restaurants and shops to enjoy.
The only slight negative on this hotel is the 'breakfast' which consists of a few stray croissants left lying on a desk in the lobby area (there isn't even anywhere to sit and eat).
The attitude of the front desk staff and the manager were very arrogant.

The only bad thing about the hotel is the parking garage --- it scared me.
Its a 10 minute walk to the nearest trainstation (Foggybottom) but they have a shuttle bus that you can take there.
The worst that I can say about this place is the elevator is from another century (slow).

Hotel Monticello is a small boutique hotel, probably around six rooms per floor, and is very clean, great service, and quiet.
The room was spacious and very clean;however building work had just commenced at one side of the hotel with workmen starting at 0800 in the morning.
