Prices are generally much cheaper than the hotel zone, especially for food, alcohol, and souvenirs.

As all beaches in cancun are public property there is no reason really to stay at the outrageously overpriced hotels in the hotel zone.

I rated this hotel excellent, based on the price and location of the hotel.

However, if you are a budget traveller or someone who loves to explore different cultures, people and food, staying in this hotel will definitely get your money's worth.

We didn't notice that on the front of the bus there was the location of where it was going.

The hotel is in an excellent location in downtown Cancun.

The location was terrific, close to good restaurants and music clubs.

So, from the airport, take the ADO bus (15 pesos) to the bus station, and walk to the hotel.

You can catch the bus from the airport to the bus station and save yourself a lot of money if you can walk the 2 blocks.

I have had the 2 rooms, 6 beds, 2 kitchens, 2 bathrooms and living room to myself.

The room had two beds, a TV, bathroom, balcony and a pool in the middle of the hotel.

This hotel met my expectations: clean room with comfortable beds and no bugs, new A/C that is temperature adjustable and quite, good size bathroom, TV and a private balcony that overlooks the pool.

The bed is firm and the room is quiet (don't get the street side).

The room had 2 double beds, A/C, balcony and large bathroom.

There is a bar and restaurant scene but no beach, or main tourist attraction nearby.

There was a restaurant that we didn't eat at but it looked like it had a buffet, and you could order something off of the menu.

Excellent restaurants with great food at good prices, bars, nightclubs & even taco stands were within walking distance.

The hotel is located in downtown Cancun in a liveliy area with many local shops and restaurants.

Anyway onto the restaurant which was disgusting with flies all over the food and the service was terrible considering it was a buffet and all the waiters had to worry about was drinks!

There is room service, wake up calls and the guys at the front desk will answer and help you anyway they can.

Horrible service, attitude from staff, NOISY hotel like you won't believe, even at night, sparsely decorated without even so much as an iron and ironing board or coffee maker.

Our reservation had gotten lost when we arrived, but the staff promised to take care of it (which they did) and they put us in a room right away.

48 dollars a night u cant beat that excellent service friendly people and a decent neighborhood.

We were waiting for someone in the lobby, so while we were waiting we dipped our feet in the pool and it seemed very cold.

There is a pool, there is air conditioning, there's a shower a tv with American channels and an elevator.

As soon as the shuttle drove into the driveway of Hotel Margaritas one of the workers ran out and took out bags from the van.

Everything was very clean and I was especially impressed with the bathroom.

The rooms are clean, well-appointed and spacious.

The pool is clean, and the room is also clean to my standard.

The rooms were clean, but nothing special.

Simple hotel with clean "not so big" rooms.

The hotel is located in downtown Cancun in a liveliy area with many local shops and restaurants. The hotel room was very clean, but that's about it. Neither the room nor the rest of the hotel is anything to write about - good or bad.

My boyf and I stayed at this hotel because we wanted something for a cheap price for a one night stay in Cancun before we headed to our rented condo the next day. I actually liked Downtown Cancun, so location wise, it wasn't a problem. The manager on duty said "None of the keys are working right now.

After we dropped our bags in the room we were thirsty so decided to walk down to the store nextdoor to buy some water. When we came back up to the room, the door wouldn't open w/ the electronic key! We finally got into the place and we were ready to go to bed when my boyf realized the toilet wasn't flushing. We just dealt w/ the fact that it would flush, but take 30minutes to refill the toilet bowl.

Location. Near by GREAT Mexican Food.

Older Hotel. Needs some upgrading.

It is a great place to see the real Cancun. Not just the motel district. You will want to take a cab or bus (bus is much cheaper) to motel district and clubs. What a great time. Very friendly people.

I appreciated the free internet, the courtyard and pool, the proximity to the bus station, restaurants, mercado and various shops.

Because of its location, there are traffic noises at night, but with the air conditioner on, these were a minimal disturbance. The windows were also well insulated and helped with the noise.

That said, the money we saved staying here was put to great use on the days we did take the bus to the strip. The bus rides were actually one of my favorite parts of the trip-very cultural and even exhilarating since the drivers go so fast. The lobby was very nice with open air and lots of sun. The staff was actually very nice and helpful.

The room was a little on the shabby side. It was clean, but some wood was splintering in the bathroom and the air conditioner did not work very well. They told us how to get to the bus, even drawing us a map. Our reservation had gotten lost when we arrived, but the staff promised to take care of it (which they did) and they put us in a room right away.

The staff is generally unfriendly and not helpful.

Do realize that if you want to go to the beach or to, say, Coco Bongo, you'll need a 30 minute taxi ride or one hour in the bus. Terrible location, this is not the Cancun you want to be in.

The bathroom had some crappy looking fixtures but everything worked. There is a restaurant on premises with a nice selection. You can also find phone cabins and Internet access around the place. Taxi to the beach can be a little bit expensive (10-15 USD) but you can walk three blocks and take a bus (less that 1 dollar) that takes you to the beach zone.

My only two complains were: Hot water takes an eternity to come out (last day I actually timed it and it took close to 5 minutes of running water to get it warm enough for my taste) and noisy A/C (but I turned it off and that was it).

The staff are friendly enough until there is a problem and then they refuse to speak English or refuse to read an explanation from a phrase book.

2 different rooms neither had hot water, the water temp was a little above cold.
