The price for our room was not outrageous and after some of the other hotels we stayed at in italy they could have charged more for what we got.
I booked through the hotel website and payed a last minute rate of 123 Euros which I thought was good value for this quality in Florence.
The reduced rates on the hotel's web site may not be a huge bargain but offer a realistic price for a nice room.
The price was rather hefty for what felt more like a 3 star hotel, but Florence Hotels are so expensive.

If you fly into Pisa airport the train to Florence will cost you 5 Euros the bus approx 7 Euros.
We parked our rental car and were on foot for three days.
We got a great room - number 406 - it was very big, clean, huge comfortable bed, nice view from the balcony, and a big bathroom.
Our triple room (1 double plus 1 twin bed) was spacious with 2 huge windows for a cross breeze as it was on the corner of the building.
No doorman, schlepped our own luggage to a third floor "new" room so small it was difficult to walk around the bed.
Upstairs pool area to match the cool lobby, the staff is excellent and a plus for the room is that the bed was comfortable.
We had a nice sized double room with a balcony, and bathroom with bath and shower over it.
The roof top pool, bar and restaurant had a spectacular view and a great spot for a light lunch and dinner or the outer terrace for a romantic dinner with a view.
There's also a lovely bar/restaurant on the roof which we enjoyed.
The room was excellent, the large rooftop bar was a great way to relax after a day of sight seeing and breakfast on the mezzanine was well displayed.
Furthermore huge nice rooms, loved the rooftop bar and the breakfast was good.
The bar and rooftop Restaurant get the thumbs up.

The hotel should consider renovating the rooms and upstairs pool area to match the cool lobby and front bar area.
The hotel lobby and common area were very nice, clean and modern as were the lifts and the corridors, the rooms however, were a more old fashioned victorian design which didn't quite fit with the overall scheme of the hotel.
Also bar is comfortable, drink are available on the lovely roof terrace and roof top pool so fabulous to cool down in.
