Hotel Isla Dorada

Beach is fantastic my grandaughter loved only 500 yards away and the location is also good.

It has an excellent location, 2 minutes from the marina and 5 mins from the beach.

The beach is spotless too and location - at far end of El Arenal near the marina.

The transfer from the airport to the hotel cost approx 12 euros.

This price included taxi transfers, which in all, was a very good price.

The rooms are extremely small we had 3 of us in a room, one of the beds was a camper bed, and we had to put suitcases on the dressing table, in order to move around the room, the bathroom is smaller than a box room over here in the uk.

The rooms were compact we were three to a room, a little tight to say the least, daughter (15) happy to use the fold up bed, I can not explain why they did not put us in a triple room?

The rooms were small, but then you don't go on holiday to spend all day in a hotel room, and the baths are smaller than in England, but hey - use the shower!

Although the rooms are small they are perfectly adequate,after all a holiday is not spent sitting in a bedroom!

Now i had read complaints about the rooms but, I must say the only time you should be in that room is to SLEEP.

Not too bad but after a few days, got very fed up and headed to the Brit bar who served a full large english breakfast for just 5 euros each inc orange juice.

The food was very varied and excellent, we were spoilt for choice for breakfast, lunch and dinner - they cater for all nationalities and it was great to be able to taste different foods.

Breakfast on the first morning was a bit of an ordeal, the food was cold, good choice though, but we felt like freaks, it was full of Germans just staring at us.

Upon recommendation we entered the Sportsmans bar.

We ventured further afield and found a Morrocan run bar in the main german drinking area and had a great time.

Staff was helpful, the nigerian receptionist was lovely and check-in was very fast and friendly.

The hotel staff, especially the gentleman on reception were very friendly and helpful.

The nigerian receptionist was lovely, however all staff seemed to form cleeks as did the Germans.

The hotel itself was clean, staff were friendly and alcohol was good :) Room service was really good.

There is a charge of 3 euro for sauna or jacuzzi and the gym was very very poor.

The pool was small and got crowded fairly quickly, we tended to use the garden area nearby and walk up to the pool for a dip.

Back to the hotel for lunch, then to the pool garden for the afternoon, tea/evening meal.

Tidy and friendly staff, rooms clean, the drinks were really nice.

The room was very clean; the food, varied and fresh.

Overall the hotel was in a clean and tidy condition, food good, pool small, rooms small with paper walls, certainly for the younger set, not children friendly and for us not that restful ( unless you call sleeping on the beach!

Not a very large hotel, staff helpful and the room was very clean.

Our room had a lovely sea view, hotel was clean very close to a fantastic beach and the staff were very friendly as long as you were polite.
