The new four-star house Europe Hotel & Spa is located quietly and central in Zermatt with a stunning view of the Matterhorn.

It is small family hotels not far from the centre, very quiet and sunny.

Hotel offers 23 traditional and 16 alpine-modern rooms combine old and new as well as Zermatt-charme with modern alpine lifestyle.

All air-conditioned accommodations feature wireless internet access, balcony, air conditioning, desk and cable television.

Every morning a generous buffet breakfast is served. Dinner includes delicious dishes accompanied by one of the fine wines from the extensive list. Guests can also sip their favourite beverage at the modern bar.

Recreational amenities at the hotel include a health club and spa. The spa area offers two saunas, a steam bath, a Jacuzzi and a massage room. Massages are organised on request.

The mountain transport valley stations are also just 10 minutes’ walk away.

Rooms

The rooms have been furnished in a modern Alpine-style with a great love of detail, using high quality materials and carefully selected fabrics. All rooms boast individual and tasteful furnishings.

The rooms in the new building are all spacious and cleverly designed, with attractive details and unfussy architectural style.

The bathrooms are also generously proportioned with modern furnishings and some of them are open-plan.

In the original building guests find comfort, convenience and colourful fabrics with cosy Zermatt charm. Of the 23 traditional rooms, 12 are south-facing with a direct view of the Matterhorn.

All rooms have a large TV, mini-bar, hairdryer and towel-warmer.

All children under six years stay free of charge when using existing beds.

All children under two years stay free of charge for cots.

All guestrooms are non-smoking.

Dining options

In the dining room the Europe team treats its guests daily to a substantial breakfast buffet. In the evening there is a range of delicious five-course gourmet meals and select regional and international wines to choose from.

The classics in the Europe restaurant are the gourmet half-board with five courses and the large salad buffet.

The wine cellar in the Europe Hotel & Spa has a wide selection of international wines, with a strong specialisation in the local Swiss wines from the Valais.

The bar in the connecting building between the original house and new extension is a stylish meeting place for guests and locals. It is the ideal starting point for a night on the town in Zermatt or the perfect place for rounding off the evening with a nightcap.

In the connecting building between the original house and the new extension, next to the reception you will find a lounge with a reading room. Sofas strewn with cushions and a well-stocked library create an atmosphere of comfort. A particular feature of the room is the open fireplace.

Getting there

Zermatt is car-free. Cars are only allowed as far as Täsch (5km before Zermatt). The road from Täsch to Zermatt is only open to public transport.

Between Täsch and Zermatt the Matterhorn Gotthard Railway shuttle trains run every 20 minutes.

There is a direct train connection in Brig and Visp to the modern narrow-gauge Matterhorn Gotthard Railway, which makes its way for an hour and a half through the rugged and romantic scenery of the Nicolai Valley as far as Zermatt.

Zermatt is just a few hours away from the international airports of Zurich, Geneva, Basel and Milan and also has its own heliport, served by the company Air Zermatt.

Very nice staff and very good restaurant.

The hotel now has two wings, the old one and the new one, my room would have been a little on the tight side for two.
