Is well situated in the centre of town and historic hotel is in a great location.
The Elephant is though situated in a much better location, the public rooms, especially the bar and restaurant are particularly attractive.
Hotel is in best possible location in town.
Despite a great location right in the centre, the room we had was very, very quiet.
Weimar is lovely town and the location for seeing the sights is perfect.
Fluffy robes, warm rooms, large bathrooms and breakfasts which lacked absolutely nothing.
The room was small and stuffy as there is no aircon (found out later they have only put it into suites so far.
The rooms were excellent in size and bath facilitities if a little impersonal.
We could not order room service as there did not appear to be any (not menus in rooms anyway) and by this time I had got really annoyed with the whole set up anyway.
The hotel had a role a play in the rise of National Socialism as it was designed by Hitler’s architect and much of the furniture and fittings remain whilst the Fuhrer’s old room is one of the refurbs.
Breakfast was good and we understand the restaurant meals are too and of a gourmet standard but we had to leave due to there being no non smoking space in the evening even in this large room.

Weimar is a fantastic place to visit due to the Bauhaus and literary connections, good shops and restaurants.
The Hotel Elephant doesn't come anywhere near the quality, the staff is very accommodating and do not miss the breakfast as the best I've ever had.
Breakfast prices are a bit steep so we had our breakfast just around the corner in a small cafe.
The hotel has strong literary associations and staff most helpful.
What a gloomy and disappointing arrival with unsmiling staff and not a floral arrangement to be seen in the imposing foyer.
This hotel needs to decide whether it is a museum or whether it is going to meet the needs of 21st century guests and provide the services they expect.
Coffee or hot chocolate and the waitresses were very kind.
Parking is available for a price, food is truly great.
