The room was small, but charming, with rich tapestry furnishings, rustic beams, en suite bath (tiniest bathtub I've seen - ever!

The other two occasions we were given a bigger room with a bathroom which had a bath - luxury - but the downside was that it was at the back of the hotel and the tiny window looked out onto a dirty blank wall which I found extremely depressing.

Staff helpful and informative, nice such as the toilet room dropped in two separated rooms: WC.

The Hotel du Globe is just as it was (the plumbing had improved ) tiny rooms, no lifts, nowhere to hang your clothes or put your luggage, over the top French decor and wonderful breakfasts in bed.

Situated on the ground floor, without even a window to let in fresh air, it opened directly onto the hotel’s all-in-one bar, breakfast and reception area.

We proceeded to the restaurant next door which is also part of the Globe and after ordering just a salad and explaining the best we could that some of our party were vegetarian and could not eat fish or meat we recieved a tuna salad.

I would go somewhere else for breakfast as @ 14 euros it's a bit of a rip off.

There is a very good restaurant 1 miniute away Le Comptoir.

The front desk was helpful and we had free internet service.

Having said all that, the staff were extremely helpful and very pleasant and the receptionist spoke excellent English.

If you are looking for a moderately priced hotel with fine appointments, great location, good service, en suite facilities and helpful, English-speakikng staff, I recommend Hotel du Globe.

There is no lift so the steep, narrow stairs would be hard work for some.

The only real "con" I remember is that there are no elevators (we schlepped our luggage up four flights of SPIRAL stairs).

The location was perfect, the staff was incredibly helpful and the rooms were clean and tidy.

The kindly receptionist carried our bags up the stairs to our rooms which i was most impressed with and the rooms were clean and tidy.

With no sources of natural light or fresh air, the room felt miserable and stuffy, even in early March.
